"We both had gotten rings for each other and were just waiting for the right time to pop the question. I am notoriously bad at keeping things like presents a secret so one night after having a lovely romantic dinner to celebrate an achievement he had at work, I ask, "Do you want to see your ring?"
He said yes and when I took it out to show him I said, "This is stupid, what are we waiting for - will you marry me?" And he said yes! It was the perfect proposal for us because we are so confident in who we are as a couple and don't like the pressure to do something big and not "us."
It was romantic and silly - the perfect combo. The next morning we had a celebratory brunch and watched our city's Christmas parade. A great start to a wonderful engagement."
