In late December 2009, I started working for an online bridal shop selling wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses, and accessories. The online side grew and quickly turned into a storefront and an online division. I was able to work hands-on with brides helping them feel beautiful and finding the perfect dress! In 2010 one of my good friends got married. She was expecting family to come in with speakers for the reception but found out a couple of hours beforehand that they weren't coming.

We are Carli & Hamilton Dixon, artists and business owners in downtown Dayton for nearly a decade, and residents of downtown for over two decades. The Brightside is located in the 905 E. Third Street building, which was 18,000 sq. ft. filled with abandoned clothes and trash when we purchased it. But over the last 10 years, we have worked to clean it out, restore all of its services, and renovate it to become Dayton's newest music & event venue.
