The name Arrae (pronounced [uh-rey]) came from my first initial and my middle name, Rae, added an extra r and made a new word. I wanted something unique that was also me, the idea came to mind one day and it just fit. Being a photographer is all I've ever wanted to do with my life. When I was 12 I saved up my babysitting money to buy my first 'big time' camera. I formed Arrae Photography in 2003 as a part-time venture while I worked at local photo labs, went full time in 2008.

When asked when I first knew I wanted to be a photographer, it's hard to pinpoint a specific time, as I feel I have always had an eye for photography. From ripping up magazines, photoshoots with friends, the rise of Tumblr & Instagram, to taking a 35mm black & white film photography class in high school, going on to get my BFA in photography, and establishing my business - photography is truly in everything I do. The Cheney Place is a warehouse for those who can’t wait to design their "urban meets vintage meets modern" wedding. From a warehouse of included furniture you won’t have to rent to a collection of modern curated tabletop details to elevate your design, everything is here onsite. We are all inclusive where you want it with options were it matters. Our goal is to make full service and design easy which is why we also include full service coordination with every wedding. Design: We will meet with you to develop a custom floor plan and assist with linen and tablescape options Event Setup: We’ll set up tables and chairs and stage all personal décor Tear Down: When your party is over, we’ll pack everything up Coordination: We’ll help plan your timeline and coordinate details with your vendors the week of your event. St. Cecilia Music Center is a historic wedding venue situated in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, MI. When booking this facility for your big day, there are numerous event spaces to help bring your dream wedding to life. The Dexter Ballroom features elegant hardwood floors, west-facing windows, two Steinway grand pianos and a large kitchen. The ballroom can accommodate 250 standing guests or 184 for a plated dinner. There is also the Wege Recital Hall. It has enough space for 100 standing reception or 48 for a plated dinner. The room also boasts two grand pianos, a small kitchenette, and a fireplace. More-private gatherings may be held in the Mika Music Library, which provides couples and their loved ones with a warm, inviting atmosphere. It has walls with oak paneling, parquet floors, a piano, a kitchen, and a fireplace, and it can seat up to 48 guests. In addition, couples may avail of these and the venue’s other luxurious event spaces for their wedding ceremonies.
