After a two-year renovation, Nomada honored the original footprint while updating the spaces for today’s traveler. The former private residence was transformed into a welcoming lobby and lounge. Gardens were enhanced with firepits, fountains, and lush new plantings. The bungalow-style guestrooms were updated for a modern, luxurious experience. From the red tin roofs and white board-and-batten siding to the ranch-style porches, the design celebrates the Farmhouse name and brings a touch of country charm into the heart of downtown. If you’ve ever driven the oak-tree-covered stretch of Highway 101 between Templeton and Paso Robles, you might recognize the bright red ‘MOTEL’ sign overlooking the Salinas River. For decades, the motor lodge originally known as ‘The Suburban Lodge’ has sat vacant at 1955 Theatre Drive - a street named for the drive-in theatre that existed there once upon a time. Like its neighbor, River Lodge was eventually slated for demolition too, until now. The summer of my 21st birthday, I started my career with weddings at an Alaskan lodge hosting ten weddings that first summer. Since then I've worked in floral design, photography, & the food/wine industries. In 2017, I toured California working event logistics at five different festivals, including Coachella.
