Wedding cakes can range from $3–$15 per serving . Tiered cakes are more expensive than sheet cake styled cakes.

How should we cut our wedding cake?

Traditionally, you’d do a ceremonial cutting first, often holding hands on the knife. The caterer then takes the cake away and cuts it into slices to distribute to guests. If you’re slicing it up yourselves, take apart the tiers and cut them into small rectangles. Remember to wrap and freeze the top layer for your anniversary!

How should we transport our wedding cake?

Very carefully! Ideally, your cake will be delivered by your bakery, which should have plenty of experience transporting cakes. You can also purchase special boxes made to protect the tiers.

When should we order our wedding cake?

Set up tastings (the fun part!) around 7 months out. Once you’ve decided, place your order.

I explained how our wedding was in an outdoor, gardeny setting and she took the theme and not just ran, but SPRINTED with it (teeny cupcakes served out of teacups?? Like, cmon now). Erin created the most gorgeous desserts I have ever seen in my life that were so exceptionally tasty as well. She is so fast to respond, so receptive and so amazingly talented. She is punctual and so reliable. Erin took inspiration from a picture of a bouquet I also sent my florist and made it come to life on our cupcakes. From afar, I thought she found real florals to decorate the desserts with or something. Only up close could you tell it was her carefully and gorgeously crafted work. Her broad menu and offer to take requests made it so easy to build a well rounded menu that my husband and I, and our guests will remember for a very long time. We wound up having cupcakes, mini donuts, various cheesecakes, crumb cake and a small cutting cake. I couldn’t choose a favorite and had leftovers to enjoy for nearly a whole week following our wedding. We love you, Erin!!! Thank you for being such a big part of our wedding day.”

So when I was searching for a bakery or baker to make my wedding cake, I really wanted to make sure I was not only going to love the look and taste of it but also choose someone that is actually passionate about it. I reached out to so many places and no one responded so kindly and promptly like Natasha. It is no doubt that her work is impeccable (what you see in pictures does not do justice to how even MORE beautiful it is in person), but her communication throughout the process and commitment to executing your vision is incomparable to other bakeries and bakers. I had a very intimate/small wedding (15 people), and other bakers made me feel like my event wasn't worth their time and effort to make, but Natasha was so sweet and kind - made me feel like she genuinely wanted to make our day special. I especially loved that she offered a cake tasting for us even though we were only ordering a small 2-Tier cake. Other bakers refused to do a tasting unless I was intending to spend over 700. All of the flavors she offered were SOOOOO good! It was tough to choose one but we are beyond satisfied with the berry shortcake flavor Everyone at my wedding was so impressed by the cake. So clean, chic and timeless. She truly executed my vision from just the one inspiration picture. Unfortunately I did not get any clear pictures of the cake due to the dim lighting in the restaurant . My guests were also amazed how moist and tasty it was too (make sure to follow her recommendation to serve cake at room temperature to enjoy at its full potential). You can really feel the love, time and effort she puts into her work!!! A TRUE TALENT. She was very honest and reasonable when it came to pricing as well! I definitely plan to work with her again for future events”

We did a 2 tier marble cake which was amazing, the groom's cake was a Georgia themed Football which was 1 part carrot cake and 1 part red velvet which left us speechless, and the absolute show stopper was the banana pudding cupcakes! Oh my gravy these were the talk of the night! All the cakes were so moist and rich but also decadent and tasted like happiness lol! In regards to Portia herself, I would have to say she is a pleasure to work with! I had at least 3,475 questions throughout the process and she was so patient and understanding and on time!! I am a small, one woman-operated home bakery that specializes in custom buttercream cakes and macarons for birthdays, engagement parties, and small weddings. I began as a cake artist in 2020 and have fallen in love with creating realistic buttercream flowers and piping vintage-style Lambeth cakes.

“Shannon is the best! She made us a giant cake for our wedding, and it was the most beautiful and tasty thing I have ever seen/eaten. We are still getting compliments from our guests about our cake and how awesome it was! Shannon was one of the most easy people to work with, from scheduling our tasting, to mock-ups of the cake vision, to payment. She made it so easy to make sure our dog was on the cake! She is in constant communication with you, which I sincerely appreciated. I never had to worry about our cake making it to where it needed to be or looking perfect! She also made the most delicious cupcakes for the grooms cake and was very flexible on how we would have them displayed. She's the best! “Going with The Naked Cupcake for our wedding day was a no-brainer. We compared several different places and none of them hit the mark like The Naked Cupcake did. To start, they offer the option of a virtual consultation for the tasting, which makes it super easy and convenient for busy people like my husband and I. You get to pick out 4 different combinations to taste for cupcakes, pick them up, and then schedule a virtual consultation that works for your schedule. After that, it was smooth sailing. I told Alison exactly what I was looking for and she delivered! She was so easy to talk to, flexible to get us what we wanted, and quick! “We hired Cakes by Stephanie for our wedding cake that we planned to cut, along with the sheet cake for our guests and they did not disappointment! Very professional and amazing tasting. They did the exact design of our wedding cake which looked marvelous and tasted amazing too. I loved that they had sugar-free options, so our wedding cake was sugar-free along with a regular sheet cake for guests. Overall, I would definitely come to them again for our cake because both tasted amazing.”
