We’re Will and Shell. We met in college, left China to study art in the United States, earned MFAs, and slowly built a quiet, ordinary life we cherish. Our twins arrived in 2019, and a little boy joined us in 2022. Raising them—especially through the pandemic—was exhausting and full of unexpected joy. We photographed our children constantly, learning to capture them as they are, without posing or shaping them. With time, we began to see how photographs hold life’s gentle truth: fleeting moments gathered into memories we return to again and again. To us, a good photograph reveals the passage of time and becomes part of our family’s story.

Sue's love of flowers traces back to her childhood, where she immersed herself in the whimsical garden of her Aunt Cecilia, the namesake of our business. Nestled in a small garden in Central NY, Sue cultivated a profound appreciation for the unique beauty and nuances of individual flowers. As a certified floral designer trained at FlowerSchool NY, Sue’s floral design business has become synonymous with exquisite floral arrangements, gracing events throughout the tri-state area. Quite simply, flowers make people happy and Sue loves sharing the happiness with others.

My passion for photography began at the University of Delaware. I devoured many photography books and eagerly began an apprenticeship with a professional photographer. On graduating I worked long hours for studios throughout the metropolitan area. In 2001, I set up my own studio concentrating on weddings and other special events. Now Michael Dempsey Photography boasts a highly professional team of photographers and cinematographers. Together we have memorialized over 800 special occasions. Our dual objective: to capture the grandeur of the day while incorporating those very human moments - the smile of a child, the tear of a grandparent.
