Professional means dressing professional! For weddings, always a black tux, white tux shirt and a tux tie. When not so formal, a black suit coat, black or gray paints with a regular black neck tie. But keep in mind, it can ultimately be up to you.

I prefer and like to arrive two hours before the first guest arrive. If a piano is on site, I'd like to arrive one hour before the first guest arrive. Things like parking, loading in (on a busy loading dock), setting up and putting cases away can sometimes take up to an hour when I provide the piano. It's important for me to be setup and out the way vendors and guest that like to arrive early.

I provide background music for cocktail hours, wedding dinners, engagement dinners and more. Cocktail hours are happy, lively and fun. I do just that by playing at a nice level in the background so everyone can still conversate. Dinners are more clam and easy going until people get up and start to mingle. Then I'll pick it up a bit. I always pay attention to the guest.
