My name is Courtney and I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in the midwest of the United States and available for work worldwide. My inspirations and approach to my work are largely influenced by my studies in filmmaking, my deep appreciation for the nostalgic, my curiosity for nuance, and my strong personal relationship with love and friendship.

My love for wedding photography is in seeking out the movement, the expressions, the ways of connecting, and the little details that are true to the individual and the collective "you". As well, it's in recognizing how precious it is to come together for celebration- particularly to celebrate love. I believe that documenting weddings is about more than formulating portraits. It's about seeing yourself, your partner, your people, and an essence of the day in your images.

    Choose Courtney Lee Photography!

    Remembering our wedding gives me so much peace and joy. It's the most bright memory I have and it contrasts starkly against the darkness of this pandemic. It's so important to me and now, with a wedding video shot and edited by Courtney Lee Photography, I'll never forget it. What a gift, thank you! I have to admit, I've watched our wedding video over 50 times. I swear I'm not insane; Courtney and Sam just did that fantastic of a job.

    Thoughtful and sees the world so beautifully.

    I've hired Courtney twice now for documenting my family and both times she was able to capture the essence of our family in such a calm, playful, beautiful way. She somehow brings out our most authentic selves and I'm forever grateful to have these photos of my kids growing up with me in the photos too! She captures the tiny ways I connect with my kids that I'm already nostalgic for. Like the way my baby crawled up the stairs and I followed closely behind. As parents we must follow them up the stairs 10000x times so it's mundane but the fact that she even thought to get low to his perspective and photograph it means I forever have this beautiful photo of what being a mother looked like. And then the next time the kids were older and she was able to both maintain a calming energy AND work with their hyper energy. I love the way she sees the world. Can't wait to hire her again.

    Talented, artistic, personable photographer team!

    Courtney and Sam were incredible! From the moment we initially interacted with them at the “offwhite wedding” event they were incredibly personable and kind. We quickly became friends while we discussed our wedding and vision for the experience we were hoping to host and experience. They traveled all the way to Louisiana to capture our whole weekend of wedded bliss and fun! We were so pleased with the artistic and candid shots they captured of us and all our loved ones! I would whole heartedly recommend them without hesitation!

    If you are looking for a wedding photographer who is not only extremely talented, but also an absolute gem of a human, working with Courtney is a must. She was so thoughtful and sweet throughout the entire process, and she perfectly captured our wedding weekend, day, and the essence of our love. She shot our entire wedding on film, which is not an easy task at all, and delivered breathtaking, mesmerizing photographs that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.     The photographer you'll never regret hiring*

    Courtney is by far my favorite wedding photographer in the midwest region. She is the full package - low-key, relaxing to be around, friendly, and a brilliant creative genius. :) If you create the day, she is there to capture it in all of its glory: head down, behind the lens, sneaking all of those behind-the-scenes- moments you will hold dear. She is a skilled portrait photographer but doesn't forget the details. She is caring to her clients and fellow vendors. By the end of the day, you'll be asking for her number so you can go out for drinks next week. She is like the friend you've always known, yet she is able to keep her professionalism high all day.
