I spent 10 years as a photojournalist covering news, sports, and political campaigns, and for the past 25 years I’ve photographed weddings with the same calm, observant approach. That experience taught me how to anticipate moments, work quickly in changing light, and capture genuine emotion without getting in the way. I focus on the natural moments as they unfold, keep portraits relaxed with gentle direction, and make family photos organized and efficient so they do not take you away from your wedding for long.

What sets me apart is my background in photojournalism. It shaped the way I see and photograph weddings, with a calm, observant approach focused on real moments, genuine emotion, and the natural rhythm of the day rather than forcing everything into poses.

We truly cannot say enough incredible things about Roman Grinev and Laura Black. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, thoughtful, and beyond professional. First of all — 2,700 photos. And not just random snapshots, but beautifully curated, meaningful moments captured in a stunning photojournalistic style. Every time we scroll through the gallery, we find another detail we missed in real time — a glance, a tear, a laugh, a quiet moment we didn’t even realize was happening. It feels like we get to relive the entire day over and over. What stood out immediately was how deeply they listened. Roman and Laura really took the time to understand what mattered to us — the family dynamics, the Jewish traditions, the emotional moments we didn’t want missed. Nothing felt generic or templated. It felt personal and intentional. When it came to formal photos, they were unbelievably meticulous — fixing a veil, adjusting a boutonnière, making sure every detail was perfect — yet somehow incredibly efficient. We never felt stuck taking photos for too long, and they kept everything moving with calm confidence. It’s rare to find photographers who balance precision with speed so effortlessly. And most importantly, they truly knew how to photograph a Jewish wedding. From the ketubah signing to the chuppah, the hora, and all the candid in-between moments — every tradition was captured with understanding and care. We didn’t have to explain what was important; they already knew. These are truly the best photos we could have ever imagined. They are timeless, emotional, and breathtaking. Roman Photography was the perfect choice for our wedding photography needs. From our very first interaction, Roman's communication was comprehensive, timely and incredibly helpful as we planned the details of our small, backyard ceremony. We had never hired a photographer before, and he was very helpful in asking us questions and sharing information proactively. On the day of, Roman captured the event seamlessly - he knew exactly when to step back and let moments unfold naturally, and when to jump in to get the perfect shot. We're so grateful that he noticed us FaceTiming my grandmother so we have beautiful photos of her presence, even though she couldn't attend in person. The final photos are absolutely stunning, and the value for the quality of work was excellent. Roman did a great job with my wedding photos! It was easy to reach him whenever I had questions before the wedding, and he was very accommodating when we decided we wanted to add some outdoor photos at a nearby park to the schedule as well. I'm very pleased with how the pictures turned out!
