About Sarah James Photography
Sarah James
My name is Sarah James Middleton, and I am a Wedding and Boudoir Photographer located in the DMV area. My husband, Jack, and I shoot as a team to capture your day & the authentic energy of your guests & union. Using film and digital photography, we strive to capture your moments with candid authenticity and true to life colors. We believe in giving you the full package with all of the colors and emotion of your day.
A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, I have spent the past few years working in weddings in Baltimore and beyond; shooting over 300 weddings in the 7 years since becoming a full time wedding photographer. My work is a mix of styles. I tend to lean towards editorial & timeless for portraits and then stepping into a more documentary role for the ceremony and reception. I shoot both 35mm film and digital photos.

Sarah is THE BEST!
My wife and I met Sarah in 2024 at a venue open house. We immediately loved her fashion and energy, but most of all her photography. We were thrilled to see film as a part of her package. We booked for a January 2026 wedding and as the days passed by we were getting increasingly excited. Before the wedding, Sarah was very proactive in communicating the wedding timeline, style wishes, and any other important info. The day of the wedding could not have been more flawless. Sarah and her husband worked like a well-oiled machine and gave clear directions to family and friends. My wife and I are SO happy with the photos from the wedding. I believe Sarah really captured how special our day was. If you have the chance, book with Sarah. In recent years her business has exploded, and for absolutely good reason!
Flawless Experience!
Sarah was absolutely amazing! She has the magic touch when it comes to working with babies so patient and gentle. She gave great instructions throughout the shoot and has such a great eye for choosing the best backdrops and details. The photos came out beautiful! Short turnaround time !! Highly recommend her!
