Hi, I’m Lucy... wedding planner, detail enthusiast, and your go-to calm in the chaos. I help couples create celebrations that feel like them, with a passion for love stories and a meticulous eye for detail. Whether it’s an intimate "I do" or a full-blown party, I’m here to make sure your day runs like a dream. Planning my own wedding was the spark, I instantly fell in love with the magic, the details, and the joy of it all. With over three years of experience, I’ve had the pleasure of working at some of the areas most stunning venues, helping couples bring their dream day to life.

Originally from the UK, I’ve been lucky to call the greater DC area home for nearly 15 years. When I’m not planning weddings, I’m a proud mum to my two wonderful children and love spending quality time on family adventures with my husband, Sean. True to my British roots, I’m rarely far from a cup of tea - but I’ll happily swap it for a margarita come happy hour! On weekends, you’ll often find me exploring local hiking trails or soaking up a little peace and quiet before the next big celebration.

You’re engaged - congratulations! You’re excited, but maybe a little overwhelmed and wondering where to even begin. That’s where I come in! From touring venues to booking trusted vendors along with managing your budget from start to finish. I’ll be with you every step of the way! This service starts immediately upon booking and you will receive assistance with up to 12 vendor bookings - including venue sourcing and venue tours.

Maybe you’ve already chosen your venue and secured a few key vendors, but you could use some expert guidance to bring your vision to life. I’m here to help refine the details, tie everything together, and ensure every aspect of your wedding day reflects your vision! This service starts immediately upon booking and you will receive assistance with up to 6 vendor bookings in addition to consistent planning calls together.

For the couple who’s already taken care of the big decisions, I’ll step in to create your timeline, finalize vendor details, and take care of all the finishing touches to ensure everything comes together seamlessly! Day of coordination services start 4 months prior to your wedding date and include up to 10 hours of on-site coordination on the big day. I will also attend the final venue walkthrough and conduct the rehearsal.

    From the moment we booked Lucy Donnelly Events, we knew we were in good hands. Lucy's communication style was reassuring, clear, and highly organized throughout the entire planning process. Lucy's work enabled us to have a stress free wedding day, and took all of the minutae off our plates so we could have fun. She also ensured our wedding day went smoothly, even when faced with unexpected challenges. For example, when I (the bride) fell and broke my arm right before the ceremony, Lucy helped us pivot to an alternate location, kept the event running smoothly while we were at the hospital, and ensured we didn't have to worry about any wedding hiccups or mental overhead on our wedding day. The level of care, attention to detail, and professionalism Lucy brought to our wedding was unparalleled, and we are forever grateful for her hard work in making our day so memorable.

    We hired Lucy for her full-service package for our January 2026 wedding and I honestly don’t know how anyone plans a wedding without her. From the first meeting, I felt like I could breathe. She understood our vision better than we did half the time and made every decision feel easy. I would spiral, she would calmly say “I’ve got it” and she actually did. The day itself? Flawless. If anything went wrong, I have zero clue because I was too busy being present and having the best day of my life. Our guests kept saying how smooth everything felt and that’s 100% because of her. She’s organized, creative, calm, and just genuinely cares. Worth every single penny. I’d book her again in a heartbeat. Still not over it tbh..
