Panoramic waterfront views, light and airy barn-inspired architecture, and unparalleled service and support make The Boathouse at Sunday Park a destination-worthy venue just minutes from Richmond. Our couples have the opportunity to work with two impeccable event spaces: The Ceremony Garden exudes an ambiance of tranquility with 360-degree scenic views. To enhance the experience a tent can be erected allowing guests to continue to enjoy the outside natural splendor regardless of the weather. The Garden Pavillion is a fully-enclosed event private event building with heating and air-conditioning for year-round comfort. The venue can host upwards of 150 people and more than 200 with additional tenting.

The Garden Pavilion

Destination-worthy venue just minutes from Richmond

Located next to the Boathouse at Sunday Park in a fully enclosed, heated and air-conditioned building with a wood-burning fireplace. Glass doors on one side of the Pavilion open onto a private deck overlooking the lake. The Garden Pavilion can seat up to 100 guests. With additional tenting the capacity increases to 200 seated guests, or 250 for a stand-up event.

From the very first planning conversation to the final moments of the wedding reception, everything was handled with professionalism, grace, and genuine care. The setting itself is beautiful--the water views, the light pouring through the windows, the way the space feels both elegant and welcoming at the same time. It creates instant magic before you even add flowers or décor. But what truly sets this venue apart is the team. Kristan Hughes is exceptional. She is calm under pressure, incredibly organized, and deeply invested in making sure every detail is executed flawlessly. Her communication was clear, her guidance was thoughtful, and her presence on the wedding day allowed everyone (especially the bride and groom) to relax and be fully present. Her team operates like a well-oiled machine. Service was seamless, transitions were smooth, and every question was handled quickly and kindly. You can tell they take enormous pride in what they do. The food was outstanding, the pacing was perfect, and the overall experience felt effortless, which we all know is the result of tremendous behind-the-scenes work. If you are considering The Boathouse at Sunday Park for your wedding or special event, do not hesitate. It is a spectacular venue supported by an extraordinary team. And SO MUCH is included in the price. We are so grateful… and will definitely be back!

The Boathouse at Sunday Park was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the beginning, their communication style was concise, quick, and thorough, which made the planning process a breeze. On the day of, their warm and attentive staff ensured everything ran smoothly. The spacious and beautiful venue with its lovely fall ambiance exceeded our expectations. Our day-of coordinator worked tirelessly to set up the space beautifully and checked in with us throughout the event to make sure we had everything we needed. My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary at The Boathouse at Sunday Park, and it was truly a beautiful experience from start to finish. Every staff member we encountered was understanding, helpful, and incredibly kind. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our special celebration. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the view made the evening even more memorable. The team made us feel cared for and valued, which meant so much on such an important milestone for us. The Boathouse at Sunday Park was an incredible venue for our wedding. From the very first interaction, their communication style was consistent and efficient, with great follow-through on every detail. The quality of their work and overall value was incredible - they truly made everything hands-free for us, which was especially important since we planned and executed our entire 100-person wedding in under 45 days. Despite the tight timeline, our wedding day was the most beautiful and memorable, going off without a single issue. We are so grateful to the entire team at The Boathouse for helping make our special day perfect. Especially Kristan Hughes, the coordinator at the boathouse (we are not related lol) she was on top of everything from the jump.
