About this venue
Willowdale Estate is a private mansion, just 30-miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. Located within a 720-acre state forest, and along the pristine Ipswich River. Our private estate is the perfect setting for a New England wedding ceremony and reception. Our coordination team and catering staff will execute your plan with grace, leaving you free to enjoy the party and mix with your guests. At Willowdale Estate, we host two wedding seasons. Our Tent Season from May-October is perfect for parties between 125-240 guests, and our Mansion Season from November-April is better suited for smaller parties between 80-125 guests inside our Estate. As you search for a venue, we would love to hear from you! We can send open dates, host a tour of our space, or create a quote for you. Tent Events (Mansion, Tent, and Garden)
Your once-in-a-lifetime celebration deserves a one-of-a-kind setting.
Tent Season events include our private mansion, garden, and Sperry Tent. Guests enjoy the historic character of our estate, the beauty of our Garden Courtyard with a variety of flowering plants and trees, as well as, multiple access points to the mansion. Dinner and dancing are hosted under our Sperry Tent. Our restaurant-style catering is prepared on-site by the Willowdale Estate catering team, and we include support from on-site event coordinators.

- Bistro lights along the perimeter of the tent, with lanterns on the spruce center poles - Covered walkway connecting the tent and the mansion - Dining, cocktail, and café tables, and garden chairs - Tent heaters and fans available for use as needed; the Estate is air-conditioned and heated - Parking attendants - Three private hospitality suites for use during your event - Dance floor, courtyard bistro lights, and other custom features can be added (additional pricing will apply)
Mansion Events
Easy to plan, impossible to forget.
Events in the mansion (November - April) include full use of the main floor of the estate, with access to three private suites on the second floor for getting ready. Indoor events are cozy and romantic with warm wood tones of the house, festive, and lights. We are happy to incorporate personal touches that keep our century-old mansion vibrant, dynamic, and full of life. Our mansion features leaded stained glass windows, stone fireplaces, and intricate wood molding.

Amazing wedding venue
My husband and I got married at Willowdale this past Sunday April 12. We had the most beautiful wedding! Our coordinator Julia was so lovely: easy to talk to, very helpful, and clearly experienced and knowledgeable. Our wedding would not have been what it was had it not been for the incredible staff at Willowdale Estate. We are so happy with everything and we highly recommend Willowdale to any couples looking for a venue!

Dream wedding!!!
From our first conversation with Willowdale Estate, we knew we'd found the right venue. Julia, our wedding coordinator, had a way of walking us through every detail with such clarity and confidence that planning felt easy instead of stressful. She anticipated our questions before we even asked them, which really showed her experience and made us feel so at ease. The estate itself is absolutely stunning—spacious grounds with an ethereal quality that made our ceremony feel like a dream. Everything about our day flowed perfectly, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful and comfortable the space was. We can't thank Julia and the entire Willowdale team enough for making our wedding day so special.

classic, romantic and attention to detail!
Wow! Our family had an absolutely fantastic experience working with the staff at Willowdale for our daughter‘s recent tea party bridal shower! Willowdale is a house /cottage in the woods with classic New England undertones mixed with a warm history! Willowdale provides the perfect spot for a celebration! We worked directly with Rachel prior to the event. She and her team exceeded our expectations, helping us design the space before guests arrived- executing every detail as we had envisioned it! Everyone raved about the mimosa station, the sun pouring into the conservatory, the buffet choices and of course the epic chocolate chip cookies. Yum! Rachel and her team kept us on schedule making the transitions seem effortless! From appetizers, to meal time, to bridal shower games, etc! No one wanted to leave. It was a cozy home like feeling. Thank you again to Rachel and The event team at Willowdale - I give them a 10 out of 10!

The Willowdale staff is incredible. Organized, efficient, warm, and friendly. They were incredibly helpful at every stage of planning, including lots of day-of hands-on guidance. In addition to everything else, my family was blown away by the food.

Amazing Venue
My wife and I got married here in January 2026. This venue is a cut above the rest- they are communicative, flexible, and professional. They are also very LGBTQIA friendly. Our coordinator Julia did an amazing job communicating with the vendors on our behalf, and was very timely with our last minute questions and requests. The food was amazing, the chocolate chip cookies are to die for. All our guests said how beautiful the venue is and how fantastic the dinner service was. The Willowdale team is well equipped to handle anything you'd want, and they have recommendations for any service you might need!
