Better Half is Jenn Heard aka Jenn Heard. I'm a professional videographer and editor with 20+ years experience filming commercial, documentary, promotional, and creative videos. Weddings became my focus in 2011. With over three dozen wedding films delivered to couples all over the San Francisco Bay area and Chicago area, I've got a recognizable style that's tailor-fit to each wedding. Description

Film without time constraints to record everything possible, and deliver one 10-minute story edit that resembles a short documentary about your wedding event. Filled with vignettes that support a story structure (beginning, middle, end) and tell the whole wedding story. Recommend filming rehearsal to give story more impact.

    We hired Jenn as the videographer for our wedding this past summer, and we could not be more pleased with the experience! She was very communicative throughout the whole process, even when we were overwhelmed and not always great at our own communication. The actual filming experience was fun and not overwhelming. To achieve the documentary-like feel, she basically filmed what we were already doing and really captured the moments as they happened. The short film she created for us felt so true to us as a couple. It felt personal and creative rather than inauthentic and dime-a-dozen like so many of the other options we looked at. It was a beautiful mix of important features of the day and little moments that we didn't absorb when they happened because of how busy we were. She really worked with us to give us something we'll cherish. Every time we re-watch, there are more and more little details we notice both in the content and the intelligently crafted editing. We're so glad we have such a lovely way to look back on our day.

    If you're considering booking Better Half Wedding Video and you don't want a generic "Hallmark" feeling video, do it. My husband and I are so incredibly happy that we booked with Jenn! She was a dream to work with and we both teared up when we she sent us the highlight video. It feels so personal and is such a testament to the roller-coaster of joyful emotions on our day. We explained to her our vision and Jenn really brought it to life. Plus, she was very collaborative in the editing process to make sure that she delivered exactly what we were looking for.     I worked with Jenn at a wedding recently and loved everything about it. She’s caring, polite, funny, creative, respectful and joyful. Her final product was SO COOL…. Very original and unlike many of the wedding videos I have seen!!! I cannot wait to work with her again!!!!

    As a wedding photographer, working with videographers often makes my job more difficult. In my experience, most videographers try to create moments by having people do things they would never normally do. They are often an obstacle for photographers to work around. Sometimes multiple videographers are working to get all the angles and they end up creating something of a spectacle of an event when folks are just trying to be natural and enjoy themselves. I had a hard time recommending videographers to my wedding couples... until I met Jenn. Jenn from Better Half Wedding Videography is the exception. She is an incredibly nice person, super respectful of people's time and space. She brings a calming presence to weddings and eases people's nervousness. Jenn is upfront, honest, and discreet. Her work is fun and natural. I am so bummed that she no longer lives in California. When people ask about videographers, I still recommend her. She is the best!
