I was nervous to find the right fit and was so relieved to have found Summit Events. From the beginning, we ended up working with the DJ who would perform the night of. Chris Funkhouser (who seriously brought the funk!) was amazing to work with! During our consultations he was able to answer all our questions and concerns. He was able to put his swing on things from his experience to help provide the right vibes we were looking for. We pretty much already knew all the songs that we wanted to play so the program they used was perfect! It was detailed in the timing of the night, how long or short to play songs and any other special requests we wanted to have. On the night of the wedding, Chris was a blast -energetic, observant, and focused on keeping the dance floor alive all night long. He even joined us out there, helping to keep the party going strong! He was able to use his best judgement in placing some of the lighting and monogram details we chose which turned out great! “The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

“Aran DJ’ed our wedding at a farm in November. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Before the wedding: He communicated clearly and responded quickly to all of our inquiries, usually responding within an hour to emails! He asked really clear and simple questions that helped us clarify our goals and needs. We gave him murky instructions since we were overwhelmed with all of the choices we had to make for the wedding, and he translated our vague thoughts into a straightforward timeline, plan for equipment, and playlists. He communicated with our other vendors efficiently to make sure everyone was on the same page. He even helped us figure out how one of our friends could play guitar on an amp while walking between the locations. At the wedding: Aran went above and beyond. He showed up early and DJed our outdoor cocktail hour as a bonus. He DJed our outdoor chilly ceremony and stepped in to fix last minute microphone and lighting problems. I heard from everyone that the audio was clear and at a good volume, which I was worried about because we had hard of hearing guests. At our reception, at our request he helped orchestrate an EPIC hora dance, one of the best ever. He then emcee’d the night’s flow, calling up each person to give a speech, calling tables to the buffet, etc, in a way that was subtle and efficient. And then the dance party… the dance party!!! It was so epic. Aran brought a cool multi-color light, and played all the hits, took requests, asked me (the bride) like one or two questions when he needed to, and was just really fun and lively and down for whatever the crowd wanted. Aran, we are so grateful to you for helping to make our special night so wonderful!!! Thank you!!!”

“We had the pleasure of working with DJ Wong from MyDeejay. A quick review of MyDeejay: They were excellent to work with. They paired us with DJ Wong after we filled out a quick survey about the vibe we wanted for our wedding, and it was smooth sailing from there. It's clear from working DJ Wong that MyDeejay vets their DJs very well and ensures they're all professional and great to work with. Now for DJ Wong: He's got all of the main things you want in a vendor--professionalism, responsiveness, expertise, etc.), but he goes well above and beyond those standards. He provided ceremony music, background music, reception music, and uplighting, but that's just the starting point of everything he did for us. We were PICKY and we had A LOT of requests, and he accommodated them all flawlessly and eagerly. We requested he alter versions of some of our selected songs to adjust for timing, blending parts of songs together, and very particular transitions between songs. He made everything sound amazing! We had not 1, not 2, but FIVE choreographed dances throughout the evening, and he executed the timing of everything perfectly. The sound was incredible! In addition to that, because we were completely over-the-top for our wedding, DJ Wong so graciously and excitedly fulfilled our request to have KARAOKE at our reception. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! We had a very particular vibe in mind from our wedding--we wanted our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner to be classy and jazzy, and then for the reception dancing we wanted a mix of Pop anthems from the past 3 decades--DJ Wong understood the assignment perfectly! We were also at a very large venue and he had to provide sound across many different areas throughout the evening, but he came fully prepared and did an excellent job. We received so many compliments about the ambience for the entire evening, and we attribute that to him! On top of everything else, DJ Wong is an excellent MC and can read a room flawlessly. He kept the vibes up the entire evening, and struck the perfect balance of engaging with the audience and letting the music do the work. We are so grateful we had him for our special day!”
