Had our wedding on 6/22/2024, despite it being the hottest day imaginable the venue was still a dream come true. The sunset and moonrise cannot be competed with. The venue rental included tables and chairs which was huge help, and they even let you use some of the plants that are on site! Nichole is the absolute sweetest! Jack and I could not have imagined a better venue for our wedding than The Club at Glenmore in Keswick, Virginia. Growing up in Charlottesville, I knew that I wanted to get married in my hometown. Wineries are a popular choice in Charlottesville, but they are mostly located in the surrounding counties which require a long drive from hotels. Winery weddings can also require coordinating a lot of rentals (decor, tables, chairs, etc.) and finding a caterer. After researching all of the venues around Charlottesville, we chose The Club at Glenmore or many reasons. One, the beautiful and convenient location. Glenmore was conveniently located only about 10 minutes from our hotel block on Pantops which made it easy for guests and shuttles. Even though the location is close to town, it is situated inside a beautiful gated neighborhood with views of the mountains, rolling horse pastures, and well maintained golf course. So it feels like it's out in the country without actually being that far away from town! Two, the full service. Glenmore provides so much for its couples! It has an amazing on-site chef so we did not need to find a separate catering company. This was one of our main deciding factors! Couples even do the food & wine tasting at the venue which makes for a fun day trip :) Glenmore provides all of the ceremony chairs, reception chairs, tables, glassware, serving ware, flatware, etc. So we did not need to rent anything except purchase some decorations. Speaking of decorations, Glenmore has many decor pieces that we were able to use! They have arbors, prosecco walls, a boxwood wall for photo opps, votive candle and holders, charger plates, up-lights, bistro lights, etc. Three, the amenities. Getting ready spaces, ceremony locations, cocktail terrace, reception ballroom - Glenmore has it all! Glenmore has a beautiful bridal suite that the ladies in my bridal party were able to use all morning. The bridal suite has plenty of room to get ready in, hang dresses in, store decor in, and even take pictures in. There is a separate space downstairs where the guys can get ready in too! We all enjoyed spending the morning and early afternoon together in these spaces while eating breakfast and lunch prepared for by Glenmore! The space was also convenient for our vendors too. They could come and check in with me throughout the morning since I was getting ready on-site. There are many ceremony locations to choose from if you want your ceremony at Glenmore. We actually switched our ceremony location within about 2 weeks of the wedding and Glenmore was very accommodating with this switch. Finally, the beautiful ballroom was another major deciding factor for us. We had our wedding in the summer, so we knew we wanted to have the reception indoors in an air conditioned room. Four, the staff. Glenmore takes pride in providing top notch service to its clients. Kim, the event coordinator at Glenmore, helped us so much from start to finish. She walked us through the wedding process, answered the many questions we had, worked with all of our vendors, met with us for our tasting and walkthroughs, made sure that all of our requests were met, and coordinated the entire Glenmore team on our wedding day. If you are looking for a beautiful full-service wedding venue with everything including an amazing on-site caterer, top notch staff, convenient location, and gorgeous views, Glenmore is the place for you!!

The Local Restaurant & Catering
Rating: 5.0 (9 reviews)
  • Caterer
  • Serves Cumberland, VA

The Local is a full-service catering company that specializes in weddings, social gatherings & corporate events. Grand or intimate, focused on tradition or leaning toward trendy, your vision along with our capable guidance will reflect your personal style. Our staff is committed to details, offering unique options, bringing creativity and passion to the planning process.

It's been weeks since our wedding, and we're still getting an insane amount of compliments and questions on our wedding dinner! One of my bridesmaids even asked if I could get the recipe for The Local's truffle mushroom pasta (the resounding favorite from all of our guests, and for good reason). The other favorite (especially from my husband) was their apple crisp. It's common knowledge that the bride and groom don't get a ton of time to eat on the wedding day. We'd built out a private dinner right after cocktail hour but before sunset photos, and we got to eat a little bit of everything. Let me tell you -- I'm still thinking about the scalloped potatoes I had. I could have had an entire plate of those and still have been happy. We also had the chicken and green beans, and it's an understatement to say everything was incredible. Every dish was high quality, remained hot through the buffet, and were filling but didn't make you feel too heavy/sleepy to dance all night afterwards. Not only was the food amazing, but working with Helen and her team through our engagement was so easy. The Local is very thorough and sends over clear paperwork, including a contract with all items and payments broken down, and they were really responsive with any questions we had along the way. They even had a specific food option for those with allergies or dietary restrictions. Their team also helped set up and take down everything, and really made our dreams come true with the place settings and floor plan. It was absolutely beautiful. Overall, we could not recommend them more, and are hoping we get to attend a wedding where they're the vendor so we can eat more of their food! Thank goodness they're also a restaurant; we'll definitely be going there to relive our wedding dinner yet again :)

We LOVED working with Brandi for our wedding!! She came highly recommended by our wedding planner and after working with her I can certainly understand why. From the first call I had with her, I knew she would fit right in with the team of vendors we were building for our big day. It was really important to us that all of our vendors be people we felt like we would enjoy spending our day with and she was a perfect fit. Not only was she extremely professional, she was a delight to be around and captured every moment and detail with so much joy. Our wedding happened to be on her birthday and I think it is a great testament to how much she cares for her clients that she chose to spend her day serving us! Her kindness didn't end after our reception, either. She was so responsive throughout the entire process and managed to deliver all of our videos and documentaries to us well in advance of her estimated delivery timelines! She captured our day so beautifully. We will treasure our videos for the rest of our lives! I truly cannot recommend Brandi enough!!

The Barn at Tiffin Farm was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding. The owners were incredibly responsive, kind, and easy to collaborate with throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself is absolutely stunning - the large barn doors open up to reveal a beautiful rustic space with breathtaking scenery all around. The bridal suite is especially impressive, with a luxurious and calming atmosphere. On the night of our wedding, when a storm rolled in at the end of the night, the owner even went out of his way to personally drive guests to their cars in his golf cart to keep everyone dry. We are so grateful for the Barn at Tiffin Farm team and the role they played in making our special day absolutely perfect.

My now husband and I toured the venue in the Fall of 2024 while the new event space was in the process of getting built. Lori was amazing at keeping me updated on the progress and the finished product turned out amazing. I enjoyed working with the entire Hardware Hills team and would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an event space. The bridal suite is so beautiful and easily accommodated my bridal part of 6 plus other members of my family that was getting ready there that day. The groom and his groomsmen enjoyed getting to relax at the cottage the morning of the wedding. Everything was so amazing! If you're looking for a wedding venue, definitely check this place out.

Jack is a longtime Charlottesville-Albemarle resident, and currently lives in "downtown" Crozet. He's been a full time photographer in Charlottesville's wedding community for 20 years. Specialties include surprise engagements, and weddings ranging in size and complexity from elopements with a handful of guests, to multi-day celebrations with many hundreds of guests.

We feel so lucky to have had Jack Looney as our photographer for our wedding at Montfair Resort Farm this summer. From the very beginning, Jack was professional, kind, and so easy to work with—he immediately put us at ease and made the entire process stress-free. On the wedding day, Jack was everywhere without ever being intrusive. He captured every moment—big and small—with such artistry and attention to detail. Our photos are absolutely breathtaking; he not only documented the day but truly told the story of our wedding through his lens. The way he captured the light, the setting, and the emotions of our friends and family still takes our breath away. Beyond his talent, Jack has such a calm and warm presence. He made us and our families feel comfortable in front of the camera, and he somehow managed to wrangle our energetic crowd with ease and humor. Rating: 5.0 (6 reviews)
  • Photographer
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $7,200
  • Serves Cumberland, VA

Hi there. I originally hail from Georgia, but am so happy to now call Charlottesville my home. When I'm not chasing down perfect sunlight, you can usually find me tucked away somewhere with a book, writing, enjoying life with my partner Charles, styling my 1920s home, or snuggling with my Frenchie pup, Finny.

Awarded Best of Zola
Audra Jones was, to put it simply, the perfect person to photograph our wedding. We knew what we wanted - a small, intimate gathering of our closest friends and family, full of life and personality, but none of the hassle weddings are usually known for. But finding a photographer who could capture that feeling seemed like a challenge - until we met Audra. She didn't just capture the most important moments of our big day, she felt like part of them. She was incredibly professional and courteous throughout the entire event, nimbly bouncing around the ceremony to capture the perfect pictures without obstructing anyone's view. And when it came time for the real party to begin, she effortlessly blended into the crowd as they danced the night away during the reception. Her secret? She danced right alongside our guests! We received so many compliments from friends and family alike, praising Audra's ability to make them feel comfortable as she snapped their photos. Audra was a joy to work with in every aspect of planning our wedding. She had a vision but was always willing to collaborate, she was well organized but never strict, and she was so quick to get finished photos back to us, without sacrificing quality. If you're looking for a photographer for your wedding, we can't recommend Audra Jones Photography enough!

L'etoile Catering
Rating: 5.0 (6 reviews)
  • Caterer
  • Serves Cumberland, VA

We began serving Charlottesville with French and Virginia-inspired cooking at our restaurant, l’etoile, in 1993. Our catering business grew out of that experience, and out of our desire to take part in the celebrations, the rituals, and the ceremonies of people throughout the Central Virginia community. Catering allows us to reach, care for, and serve a larger audience, and to customize consistently excellent culinary experiences for our clients. We have a history of procuring the finest, freshest ingredients for the meals we create and serve, and access to those ingredients through relationships we’ve cultivated for more than 20 years.

Vickie and Mark of L'Etoile made our wedding incredible from the moment we first started discussions with them. They were incredibly knowledgeable, knowing all of the important logistics that will matter during the day, caring, ensuring that all guests (and the married couple) were fed, and flexible, making changes with us as we moved through the planning process. The food was delicious and our tasting with Vickie and Mark was probably the highlight of our planning process. They worked with various allergies and dietary restrictions and made sure that the night flowed seamlessly. I also want to highlight that Vickie is incredibly kind and supportive of her staff, making sure that they were learning great skills in a supportive environment. As someone who has worked food service and catering before, seeing this made me feel even better about our choice to work with them.

My entire bridal party and I stayed here my wedding weekend and it was fabulous! The house is so large so no one felt on top of eachother with multiple seating areas and common spaces all beautifully decorated Not to mention my cousin and I got to wake everyone up with our piano playing in the formal living room on the day of our wedding. The property is absolutely gorgeous and I felt like I was in a Nancy Myers movie while staying here. The landscaping is so well done and the massive kitchen was so helpful in feeding everyone while we were getting our hair and makeup done! Not to mention it was so great being able to have my dog there with me!

I got married in a courthouse and was convinced I could plan everything myself. But! There are always details to forget, timelines to miss, etc. Cassidy was so kind throughout the entire planning process. She took care of everything. She gathered data and executed a plan that made me feel supported, but not bossed around. My husband and I couldn't have done it without her!

My husband and I had our wedding on October 19th at Avonlea Farms and could not have asked for a more perfect venue, from the beautiful grounds to the amazing staff and owners. When we first toured, saw the greenhouse, and met Debbie and Clint, we knew that this had to be the place for our special day - and obviously made the right choice. I would recommend that anyone looking for a gorgeous and unique venue choose Avonlea Farms for their wedding as well! While we got a spot of rain during the reception, the pavilion and greenhouse thankfully kept everyone dry so the party could keep going. The bridal suite and groom’s cottage are perfect places to get ready, with plenty of space and all the amenities you could need! The lovely owners are also constantly making improvements, we were happily surprised with the addition of a paved path through the church pews and the new chandeliers in the vintage greenhouse. Thank you for hosting our special day, and making everything so easy and beautiful!

From developing black and white images in the darkroom to capturing day-to-day happenings as photo manager of the high school yearbook, my camera became an extension of me. I wanted to document the moments of the people I cared about - whether mundane or significant - and create something beautiful. Fast forward ten years and I’ve gone on to complete my Bachelor’s, Master’s, and clinical to become a registered dietitian nutritionist. I’ve had a thriving career at UVA Medical Center for the past five years and witnessed firsthand both the value and fragility of human life.

To put it simply, we love planning weddings. There's something magical about taking every little detail of such an important occasion and bringing them together to create lifelong memories for our couples and their families. Based in beautiful Charlottesville, we are an experienced wedding and event planner team dedicated to making your dream wedding come to life. We don't want any couple (or their families) to have the stress of managing all of the event details on the wedding day. After all, the guests of honor should be enjoying every moment!

Working with Nadia was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the very first meeting, she was kind, professional, creative, and organized. Every detail was handled with such care and we truly felt supported throughout the entire planning process. She understood our vision perfectly and elevated it in ways we never could have imagined. Her communication was always prompt, and on the wedding day itself, everything flowed wonderfully. We even tried out a new layout/timeline for our venue, and she nailed it! We were able to relax and fully enjoy the day knowing she was handling everything. Our wedding was beyond anything we dreamed of, and we owe so much of that to Nadia and Mary Elizabeth Events. If you’re looking for a planner who is organized, creative, organized, open, and genuinely invested in making your day perfect, look no further :)
