While their communication was a bit delayed leading up to the event, they were ultimately effective in executing on the day-of. The DJ kept the party going all night with a good song selection, though they did play 3 Taylor Swift songs in a row at the start, which we would have preferred more variety. The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. We'd recommend HiMotive to other couples looking for an energetic DJ.”

“The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

We cannot believe this was our WEDDING!!! & it wouldn't have been the same without Black Diamond Event Production! People are still messaging us to say this was the best wedding they've ever been to! Not only is this team so talented that it is almost out of this world, they are also good people. People you'd want sitting at your table, people you'd want in your corner, and people you will want to keep in touch with forever. DJ Tavo sent us our dinner and reception mixes as they played the night of our wedding almost immediately. Which means we can keep reliving this night!! It was such a sweet surprise. We will never forget this & will be recommending them to all of our friends and family. We will scream it from the top of Boston's Prudential Center (where our reception was) if we have to! Hi there! We're just a couple guys (cousins actually) that were born and raised in the Lakes Region of NH. We've been entertaining people at weddings and other functions for years with bands and as DJs. We love making people laugh, smile and just have a great time. We noticed there weren't many DJs in NH that could offer the live music services couples wanted for their ceremony or cocktail hour. That's when we decided to create this business. “Not only are Josh and Tom amazing business owners, but they're fantastic people and extremely talented in their craft. Our first experience with them was at my best friend's wedding where STL was their entertainment, and my now husband and I LOVED josh's DJ style and music taste since it aligned with our interests (pop punk, emo, alternative, etc.) My husband really wanted a live music element at our wedding and Josh and Tom's catalog of talents was perfect for that we wanted. We had a DJed ceremony, acoustic cocktail hour, and DJed reception and they nailed every single aspect. Josh is extremely professional yet personable and fun. Chatting with him is like catching up with a lifelong friend. He was attentive and considerate of all the name pronunciations of our loved ones, hyped us UP at the level a close friend would, knowledgeable about executing perfect timing and transitions, and so skilled in creating the perfect dancing/party vibes we wanted for our night. Everyone gave us such great compliments on Josh as a person and the setlist. Friends said it was the most fun they had at a wedding ever and how the setlist was so very “us.” Josh even came to our after party to spend time with us and graciously gave us some honeymoon fund money. Not only did we find a great vendor for our wedding, but we found a great new friend in Josh. Please book them for your big day, you won’t regret it!”

Their unconventional group has mastered the art of creating a great dance party that keeps guests on the dance floor all night and then humming the songs the next day!

“We absolutely loved working with The Hook Club. Our amazing planner, Greenhouse Events, recommended THC, and we were sold immediately after meeting with Dan. He is super relaxed, nice, and so knowledgable. Dan and THC team made planning super easy for us. They took time to hear about our hopes and helped recommend different band sizes for us. We hadn’t heard of a DJ band before, but loved the idea of some live music with the versatility to play all sorts of music, but our venue wasn’t very big and we also didn’t want to break the bank and hire a huge band. We chose the 4 piece DJ band with singer, sax, drums, and DJ. We knew we LOVED the sax, so we also had the sax play for cocktail hour (shout out to Elijah, who was amazing), and it was one of the best parts of the night. For planning music, they sent out a very detailed and thorough spreadsheet with more songs than one could imagine, and we could rate ones we liked the most, choose ones we definitely wanted or didn't, and choose specific songs for important moments. We met a couple times to review music choices as well. One of our biggest fears with a DJ was that they'd talk too much and be a little annoying, but Dan did a great job as MC, and was very low-key like we asked but announced important moments clearly. Dan and all the musicians had such great energy and got everyone on the dance floor. Our vocalist, Christen, was also amazing — her voice was spectacular, and she was such an amazing performer and got everyone involved in the music and dancing. So many people told us how much they loved the music and the energy, and had never heard of a DJ band but thought it was an amazing concept and the addition of live music over tracks added extra excitement and fun. THC also helped out with lighting (uplights and dance lights), and worked with our fantastic planner and the venue to help us decide the best setup. Ultimately, we loved working with THC. Their DJ-band setup is unique and adds so much variety to your music while allowing for some of the energy that comes from live performers. We danced the night away and had an absolute blast. 100% would recommend THC to anyone!”

“DJ Dana did our wedding on 8/31/24 and we highly recommend him! He took into account my wedding playlists, and knew when to play the right songs. It took a lot of stress out of our day. He was very early, and set up with plenty of time to spare. His speaker system and microphones for toasts worked great. He brought his own lights to add to the party and even added some to our sweetheart table to spice it up! He was very thoughtful, and even sang us L-OV-E by Nat King Cole very tastefully and casually while people were finishing dinner. Highly recommend… thank you DJ Dana!”
