Communication with VMG Weddings was super relaxed and easy, they understood everything I wanted. We were blessed to have both Matt & Des capture our special night. The work they produced was incredible - they were so detail-oriented and worked tirelessly to bring my wedding day dreams to reality. They incorporated the beautiful cemetery on the property into my photos because they could tell it was something I would love. The photographers were also so helpful, fluffing my dress, checking my hair and makeup, and even bustling my dress multiple times throughout the night. It felt like having extra friends there to make sure everything was perfect. Definitely hire VMG Weddings for your wedding - they'll make it a true fairytale for you!

From our first conversation, Matt made us feel at ease. He took the time to really get to know us and what we were hoping for. Our wedding in Owls Head was everything we’d imagined—ocean air, views of Rockland Harbor, and the lighthouse in the distance. Matt and his team captured it all beautifully, along with the little in-between moments that meant the most. The photos are gorgeous. They feel honest and full of life. And the video… we’ve already watched it more times than we can count. It brings us right back to that day every single time. It doesn’t feel posed or overdone. It just feels like us. Hiring VMG Weddings was one of the best choices we made. If you're planning a wedding in Maine, don’t think twice.

I knew we needed to book Kaitlin from the second I found her Zola profile, but it was completely solidified by our meet and greet meeting. Kaitlin is exactly as described. So personal, completely herself, open and transparent, I could go on and on. One of the biggest things that sold us with Kaitlin (besides her work) was the fact that she gave us advice on what to look for/questions to ask with other photography vendors while we were on our hunt. We had our engagement photos in October in Boothbay Harbor and we are actually located in Western Mass. I had ideas in my head about what would work and Kaitlin made the drive to check out the locations and ensure they actually would. One of my locations wasn't the best lighting wise and she gave multiple other options to get similar looks. We actually ended up doing some downtown photos which are some of my favorites (which is a little a lie because I am obsessed with all of them). I read in multiple of Kaitlin's reviews that she makes awkward people comfortable behind the camera and I am here to say it is true. I was so stressed going into things, worried my hair looked bad, we wouldn't get *the* shot, we would look weird, etc. Kaitlin immediately asked me what my worries were and I felt so at ease. Working with Kaitlin felt like working with with a lifelong friend who really has it all together and is such a professional. I truly know that our wedding day is going to be that much better knowing she is going to be there documenting it all.

Jenna Cavanaugh Photography
Rating: 5.0 (22 reviews)
  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Gray, ME

Natural, documentary, photojournalistic. Real, raw, candid. We’re not going for any stiff prom poses here. I like to capture the day as it is and to document it as it unfolds. I never want to force anything, but I step in and direct where needed. Being in front of the camera isn’t my favorite thing either. I will be here to guide you and prompt you the whole way, I promise.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience than working with Jenna Cavanaugh Photography. We found Jenna through glowing online reviews, and she still managed to surpass our already high expectations. Her photographs are stunning-- each one tells its own story, capturing pure emotion in a way that truly brings the moments to life. Jenna was professional, easy-going, and made both our engagement session and wedding day feel relaxed and fun. Her turnaround on our sneak peek wedding photos was incredibly quick, and the sneak peak album she delivered could have easily been our entire wedding day collection! From start to finish, Jenna felt like another best friend in the crowd. The experience was unforgettable, and choosing her was without a doubt the best decision we made for our wedding memories.

Working with Sarah was an absolute dream. Planning a beach wedding in Maine while living in Florida felt overwhelming at first, but Sarah made the entire process smooth and stress-free. She is so organized, thoughtful, and proactive! She’s truly everything you could want in a wedding planner. One of the biggest challenges we faced was finding the right beach that wouldn’t be too impacted by high tide. Sarah went above and beyond. She is local, so she was able to offer a wonderful spot and ultimately helped us secure the most beautiful, cinematic beach setting we could have ever imagined. It was perfect in every way, and our day would not have been the same without her guidance. On top of that, Sarah offered to help with anything and everything on the wedding day itself from moving chairs to paying vendors so we could just enjoy the moment. That kind of support is priceless. We are so grateful for her expertise, kindness, and dedication. Thank you, Sarah, for making our dream wedding a reality! We can’t recommend Petal & Pine highly enough.

Noble House Inn Venue was an absolute dream venue for our wedding. The inn itself is beautifully decorated and all the rooms are cute, quaint, and exceptionally clean. Across the road is Highland Lake which makes for fantastic pictures that really capture the essence and beauty of Maine. It truly feels like you're in a New England Hallmark romantic comedy! The outdoor grounds and ceremony space are also incredibly beautiful, lined with flowers and birch bark trees. The real stars of the show are Lynn, Cassie, and Matt. They truly care about you and your special day. They will do everything and everything to make you feel at home and at ease! Their communication throughout the planning process was quick and effective and they went above and beyond to provide us with things that other venues would charge for, such as tables, chairs, linens, etc. Their list of recommended vendors also shined brightly and helped to make our special day even more special. On the day of our wedding, a massive storm hit the area. Right when we were supposed to be walking down the aisle, the power went out and the intense rain literally knocked the power lines onto the road! Lynn, Matt, and Cassie kept calm and kept us all calm as well. They quickly got the generator running and the power back on with the help of the fire marshal that lives next door! They truly saved our day and it's a moment we will remember and appreciate forever. We're so grateful for their professionalism and dedication to making our wedding day perfect. We couldn't recommend the Noble House Inn Venue more highly and we're so happy with how everything turned out!

I am not sure of the overall quality of the work or value provided by M.R.K. Entertainment, the wedding band and DJ we hired for our wedding. However, they did contribute a few notable things to our special day. The band played a great selection of upbeat music that kept our guests dancing all night long. Additionally, the DJ did a nice job of seamlessly transitioning between songs and maintaining the energy on the dance floor. Overall, M.R.K. Entertainment helped make our wedding reception an enjoyable experience for us and our guests.

We worked with Tiny Laser for our wedding, choosing the 30-days out coordination option. Julianne helped us cross all the Ts as we approached the day. We had a general sense of how we wanted everything to go, but she asked us all the right questions, offering details we hadn't thought of. The result was a perfectly smooth wedding. If there were hiccups, we didn't know about them! Julianne and Jose went above and beyond from the rehearsal dinner on, helping to set up our linens, and figuring out how we'd get down the aisle. At the wedding, Julianne checked in on us throughout, making sure we ate, and got sweaters when it got cooler. She was considerate, polite, and calm. We so appreciate all the work Tiny Laser put in to make our day!

Specializing in Modern Pop, '90's Alternative, Indie-Rock, Pop-Punk and Country, the band covers a wide selection of just the that songs you and your guests want to hear. When it comes to live music, live sound and a reception that will be a party to remember, they are the only call you're going to have to make.

STOP, and do not look ANY further!!! INCREDIBLE! My husband and I were big on wanting an incredible band to lead our guests through an unforgettable evening. I spent endless days searching and searching for a band. So many of wedding bands, sound just like that, a wedding band. But Champagne Casanova is not your typical “wedding band.” They are just a straight up talented group of incredible musicians. We hired them to do music through our ceremony, perform at cocktail hour, and perform for our reception. They surpassed any expectations I may have had for our wedding. So many of our guests asked me how I found them, and were so floored by their performance that they wanted their business card. Daniel, Crystal and the crew were absolutely exceptional and I truly believe that if you don’t hire them for your wedding, you are doing yourselves and your guests a disservice. Daniel communicated with me through email and was incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive through the entire process. I truly cannot say enough nice things about these guys!!!

2 years after our wedding, our friends and family keep saying that our wedding at Camp Skylemar was the best wedding they'd ever been to. Now they're asking for us to host a 5 year anniversary weekend at Camp Skylemar! The Camp Skylemar team went above and beyond around every corner (and in ways I'll never know, because they made it all happen in the background!). We got married in mid-September and had a perfect weather weekend. We started the weekend with dinner around the campfire - it was simply magical. Saturday kicked off with a great game of costume kickball, followed by swimming and playing in the lake. Our wedding was held on the docks. I not only loved working with the amazing Camp Skylemar team, but we also had a great team of vendors - namely Blue Spoon Catering (now E. Wales Hospitality). The teams work really well together and our guests could have been any happier. Part of what I loved about Camp Skylemar is that we were given a relatively blank slate to build our dream wedding weekend. They saw our vision and helped bring it to reality. 20/10 recommend!!

Christophe is AMAZING! First off, he did a fantastic job with our engagement pictures last Summer- he got there early to scope out the scenery and lighting and had all of our pictures back in less than a week. He was proactive with communication up until the wedding to confirm times, locations, and photo lists for the weekend. He was prompt, organized and professional the whole time. One of our favorites is the amount of time he took to capture some small details of our big day that we would not have thought of. He really went above and beyond, and most importantly our photos are amazing and all back in less than 2 weeks! All our friends and family was super impressed with his work.

Bethany and Dan Photography
Rating: 5.0 (12 reviews)
  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,400
  • Serves Gray, ME

Our first kiss was on the beach, under a star-filled sky, on my favorite island, only home to shells, bioluminescent creatures, and wild horses. Soon after, as two very young humans (21 and 23), we were married. As newlyweds we set off on an adventure, kayaking from Maine to Key West. On that trip, we realized how much we valued spending all our time together and being in charge of our schedule. This business is how we live out that dream.

Bethany and Dan did such a wonderful job photographing our wedding. They have a distinct and unique style that really shined through when we were on the hunt for a photographer, and it translated beautifully to our photos. They were incredibly easy to work with leading up to and on the big day and very organized. We are BEYOND pleased with the results of both the portraits and more creative shots. Also, the dance floor content they captured was spectacular and got rave reviews from our guests. Highly recommend them!! Thank you Bethany & Dan!

It's hard to put into words how talented and wonderful Tess was to work with. When we first connected, I was immediately drawn to her vision, how collaborative it felt she was, and how she was willing to work with me on planning a less traditional wedding weekend. Aside from some very general direction, I really gave her creative freedom to do what she thought would be best, and then her first proposal exceeded anything I could've imagined so it was a no brainer to work with her. The year of working together was just as great as that first interaction—she is extremely organized and detailed, takes initiative to handle things that were able to be taken off of my plate, and is just clearly so passionate about what she does, and that is reflected in her work. During the wedding weekend, she and her team took on tasks that were outside of what they should've been handling, but did what they thought needed to be done to make my life easier and to make the vision come to life. I was so grateful to have her around for the weekend. But above all of that, the flowers were absolutely incredible. I can't tell you the number of people—both who were at the wedding and who weren't even there—that approached me or reached out to me to tell me they were the most gorgeous flowers that they had ever seen. There wasn't a single person who wasn't blown away by them, my husband and I included!! Long story short.. work with Tess. You won't be disappointed.

Savage Wedding Co.
Rating: 5.0 (10 reviews)
  • Photographer
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Gray, ME

Savage Wedding Co. is for couples who want their wedding to feel like themselves — not a performance, not a production, and not something they have to manage all day. I work with a balance of structure and flexibility: enough direction to keep things moving, and enough space for moments to unfold without forcing them. I don’t chase perfection or try to smooth out every edge. Some moments are quiet. Some are awkward. Some don’t fit neatly into a highlight reel — and that’s usually where the honest stuff lives. I don’t rush past those moments or reshape them to look like something else. I let things be.

The saying is true here: “you come as strangers and leave as family.” The Greenhouse and The Farm has been run by 3rd generation owners, Joe and Christine since 2008, but Joe and Christine’s involvement in the farm runs far deeper than ownership. In 2009, the couple was married in one of the working greenhouses

We had our wedding here in early October, and the setting couldn't have been more perfect! It is a beautiful venue, and working with Mike and Essie was seamless. Staying at the attached farmhouse with our friends for the weekend was the perfect addition to our celebration! It made our wedding an entire experience that we could savor rather than one night that went by just way too fast. Highly recommend Barn on Walnut Hill as an incredible wedding venue!

I had the wedding of my dreams at the manor this past weekend. I had been there previously for events and knew before I was even engaged that was where I wanted to get married. The family that runs it are warm, inviting and have such an attention to detail that will leave you wanting for nothing. The communication leading up to felt like you were talking to a friend, easy and effective. The rooms were pristine and absolutely gorgeous when we arrived. They went above and beyond in so many ways. And the breakfast … I wish I could wake up there every day! The entire family was involved, and they really made you feel like family as well. I would recommend this venue not only for weddings, but also I have been to bridal showers and baby showers here and had the exact sentiments after those events as well. I will forever look back on my experience here with nothing but smiles and heartfelt memories. Thank you to Jill, Joe, Kate and Josh - you truly made our dream wedding come true.

Savage Wedding Co.
Rating: 5.0 (8 reviews)
  • DJ
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Gray, ME

Savage Wedding Co. is for couples who don’t want a wedding rooted in tradition or a DJ who plays it safe. If you live somewhere between EDM, metal, or punk and want energy that actually builds through the night, this will make sense to you. You don’t need to edit yourself to fit a predetermined idea of how a wedding is supposed to sound. If you want to headbang, rave, or sing at the top of your lungs, there’s room for that here. The focus is momentum and feel. Not checking boxes.

When we were booking vendors, I wanted wedding professionals. I wanted people who knew the industry inside and out because we were DIY-ing our wedding and without a planner. When you book someone for your wedding, youre not just booking their service- youre booking their industry knowledge and Magnus has a LOT of knowledge and such a big heart. My example of this is within 4 hours of submitting an initial inquiry, we had an email with a scheduled time to call to chat about his services and our wedding plans to see if they matched. What really got our hearts though was before we agreed to work together, he helped me fine tune the schedule I had in my head for the wedding day. He helped us with our timeline not because he was trying to “sell” us on him, and he didnt say “if we work together I’ll help you with the timeline” which would have been perfect acceptable. He helped me because he cares about weddings and wanted to make sure regardless of who we went with for a DJ that we had a good foundation. After that call, I told Collin I wanted Magnus on our wedding team and we didnt need to even consider anyone else and let me tell you - that was one of the best decisions we made. Throughout the process he gave great ideas based on his experience not only for the party (DO THE 10-15 MINUTE DANCE PARTY!!!) but on other aspects of our wedding as well. You’re not just working with an “oh you got a *DJ* DJ!!”as my friend so excitedly said after the music started, you’re working with a professional big hearted person with years of experience who is here to help you have the best time. Our day was truly the best and Magnus was a huge part of that. Once the music started, our dance floor was packed and stayed packed to the bitter end! I will absolutely recommend him to everyone and we are still hearing about how great the music and vibes were. Pics for vibes *insert stars emoji since zola wont allow emojis*

  • Starts at $5,950
  • Serves Gray, ME

I’m Michelle, a Portland, Maine based wedding and couples photographer. I grew up in a small town in Connecticut, spent my college years and 20s in Boston, moved to New York City with my husband and now have found my way back to New England. I worked for eight years in event planning before going full-time with my photography business. I’m grateful for those eight years because they taught me so much that I’ve carried into managing my own small business. Beyond photography, I am an avid reader, love long bike rides, prefer the Monday crosswords, enjoy woodsy day hikes, and am always finding the nearest bookstore when we travel.

Michelle K. Martin Photography was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Their communication style was fast, clear, and flexible, which put us at ease throughout the entire wedding planning process. The quality of their work was exceptional - they captured the vibe of our special day in a high-level, thorough manner. On the day of the wedding, the photographers seamlessly integrated themselves, making us feel special and allowing us to focus on ourselves, knowing that all the important moments were being beautifully captured in the background. They were also extremely professional, working through the family photos in a structured yet clear and communicative way that made the photo session truly enjoyable. We couldn't be happier with the memories Michelle K. Martin Photography has provided us. We highly recommend hiring Michelle!!!

I can’t say enough good things about Ayden! I hired her later in the planning process, and my only regret is not hiring her sooner. She truly kept me sane on my wedding day. From quickly bustling my dress so I could get back to the party, to even helping my dad fix the hem of his pants—she went above and beyond in every way. My venue went through three different coordinators in the span of a year (something I never thought would happen, especially at such a nice hotel in Maine). The communication was a nightmare, and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without Ayden. She was relentless in trying to get in contact with someone when I simply didn’t have the time—I work a full-time, demanding job—and I didn’t even hear from the venue until about three weeks before my wedding. We still had timeline issues that needed immediate attention, and Ayden took charge. She finally got me in touch with the general manager, and things smoothed out from there. By the time the wedding arrived, I was so burnt out that I gave Ayden very little direction on how to set up some of my decorative pieces—and she absolutely nailed it. Everything looked wonderful and exactly how I had envisioned it (if not better). She kept me on schedule, executed every detail perfectly, and made the day feel effortless. I know wedding planning is expensive, but the stress and anxiety are just not worth the hassle. Having Ayden there was truly priceless. She is calm, collected, and incredibly detail-oriented—exactly the person you want by your side on your wedding day. If you’re on the fence about hiring a day-of coordinator, let this be your sign—Ayden is absolutely incredible!

Bridal By Heather
Rating: 4.6 (7 reviews)
  • Beauty professional
  • Starts at $500
  • Serves Gray, ME

I am a licensed Cosmetologist and have been a Bridal Specialist for seven years now (specializing in Luxury and Destination weddings)! Helping Brides feel like their most confident self on their big day is my passion!

I felt so lucky to be able to work with Heather Hider for my wedding day. During wedding planning I was incredibly nervous about the make-up, because I have had almost exclusively not great experiences when having my makeup done and do not know how to do anything myself. As soon as we had our trial I was so at ease, and it was such an enormous relief going into the wedding day knowing I was in amazing hands. As a bride you have so many details to worry about and it was seriously invaluable that make-up was not one of them. I so appreciated everything Heather did to make me feel comfortable and confident. I could not even believe my makeup on the day of our wedding, and Heather had somehow made it even better than the trial (which I already loved!!). If you are a bride looking for any type of make-up, but especially brides looking for natural make-up, Heather is a dream!

We’ve put our own twist on Icelandic-style hot dogs that have guests raving about being the best they’ve ever had. While our traditional menu is designed to please, we’re happy to collaborate with you on any custom options or unique menu items that’ll make your day truly special (caviar dogs, anyone?). Whether it’s a fun rehearsal dinner, a late-night snack to fuel the dance floor, or a memorable surprise that’ll have your guests talking, we’re here to add that chef’s kiss to your celebration!

We worked with Gunnar’s Hotdogs for a community Holliday Market and they were wonderful! The hotdogs are amazing, the taste is great, and the toppings take the dogs to another level with both taste, texture, and esthetic! The unique style of dogs complimented the European Christmas market vibe we were going for with the event, couldn’t recommend enough!

Hi, I'm Kimberly Conway a licensed cosmetologist with over 12 years of experience in the bridal industry. As the proud owner of The Salon & Co. I specialize in creating timeless, elegant hair and makeup looks that reflect each bride’s unique style and vision. I offer on-site bridal hair and makeup services, bringing a calm, professional presence and my expertise directly to you on your wedding day. My goal is to make your beauty experience seamless, stress-free, and unforgettable. Whether you're dreaming of a romantic updo, soft waves, or a flawless natural makeup look, I’m dedicated to helping you look and feel your absolute best!

Kim is a joy to work with and I’m so happy she was a part of my big day! She is kind, flexible, and talented! I was having a simple and small wedding so just needed bridal hair done, and she was professional and responsive from the get go. She was always a pleasure to communicate with and was flexible in changing up the style after our trial. I had been worried about my hair being tough to get into an updo (very slick/thick/?slippery? East Asian hair that always falls out of braids and buns), and Kim was able to masterfully craft a style that was both secure, voluminous, and whimsical. Can’t say enough great things about her!!
