My husband and I had our wedding here this June and the team at The Arnold House was so amazing to work with throughout the process. I truly do not think we would have had as great of a weekend if we had done it anywhere else. Everything felt very personally cared for, they approach everything with a 'yes' attitude (and offered comparable alternatives if option A was truly not possible), and in general they were so hospitable and communicative that we never felt nervous about their ability to execute the wedding weekend. By the time we were heading into our wedding weekend we felt nothing but excitement to experience and see everything we and the AH team had planned and to share it all with our friends and families. As a venue itself there are a myriad of options to choose from for hosting all the different parts of a full wedding weekend, and we never needed to repeat using a location over the course of the 7 different scheduled events (rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after party, farewell brunch). It was great being able to host the majority of our guests on-site as well, and minimized the amount of coordination we needed to plan in advance for off-site guests, like hotel blocks and transportation.

Skylark Music
Rating: 5.0 (50 reviews)
  • Band or Ensemble
  • Serves Livingston Manor, NY

Jesse and Justin have been playing music together since they met performing in a band at Disneyland in 2001. After moving to Beacon, NY around the same time, it made sense to start an official wedding music business to share their love of music with some of the many happy couples getting married in the Hudson Valley. One thing they love about playing music for weddings is the variety that is required of them. Every gig is different and they all happen on one of the happiest days of the clients' lives!

Awarded Best of Zola
From our initial conversation, Jesse made my husband and I feel completely at ease. We came in with a lot of questions (and, admittedly, a fair amount of overthinking) around song choices and overall vibe, and he met every single one with patience, understanding, and great recommendations. On our wedding day, Jesse and his ensemble were nothing short of incredible. The live music didn’t just fill the space, but set the tone. It elevated the entire atmosphere of our wedding in a way that felt deeply personal, warm, and elegant—perfectly calibrated to who we are and what we wanted the day to feel like! Beyond the artistry, the level of professionalism was unmatched. Completely dialed in, Skylark made everything feel effortless (which, as a couple getting married, is a true gift). We honestly can’t imagine our wedding day without them. Their music made the day what it was. If you’re considering working with them, do not hesitate. It will be one of the best decisions you make!

After being in a wedding party that had used Annalise and Co, I knew I wanted them for my wedding! Fran and her team were absolutely amazing!! Each lady on the team was so personable and extremely nice! When getting my bridal hair done, Fran had made a suggestion to switch it up a little bit from the trial due to the amount of wind and boy am I so happy we did!! My hair, as well as the other girls hair stayed PERFECT all day long (some until the next morning!) The lady's who did the makeup did an incredible job! Each girl looked beyond stunning; everyone looked so natural and didn't smear at all in the sun or from all the dancing! I am so extremely happy with their services!

Upon seeing pictures of Heather's work, I knew I had to have this woman be the florist for the big day. It was just extra luck that Heather also happens to be a decorator! Heather is on top of everything and very organized. We went over details big and small, things I hadn't even considered. She was familiar with my venue and knew just how to utilize her decorating skills - with beautiful drapery over the beams, gorgeous greenery down the tables and bud vases filled with vibrant flowers. She brought my vision to life and was excited with me the whole way planning it. Heather was great keeping me on task with things to do leading up to the big day so I wasn't scrambling. She followed up with many emails from me regarding small random questions. Our wedding was stunning and it felt great knowing someone was handling the decor while my loved ones and I focused on each other. The florals were truly breathtaking - my bridal bouquet was a dream come true. It was popping with all sorts of colors, fun texture, and gorgeous shape - it was my inspiration pictures but better! The arrangements at the ceremony and on the arbor were equally as stunning and guests were raving about them. I can't say enough great things about Heather - her organization, her clear expertise in florals and arrangements, and tasteful decor all created an extraordinary day. Highly recommend!

I (Bride) had the pleasure of meeting and working with Eddie several years ago. So, when my Husband and I got Engaged, we called Eddie right away hoping he would be available for 1 of our 2 desired dates. Luckily, he was and there is no doubt he was a key component in making our Wedding the magnificent day it was. From the gorgeous Engagement photos, communication in-between and through the Wedding Day, Eddie was knowledgeable, creative and made our photography experience smooth and easy. Eddie considered all our requests and inquiries on types of photo documentation and was always available within 24 hours either by phone, text or email. Not bothered by any challenge, Eddie was always personable, wearing a Smile. Recognition also goes to Eddie’s colleague, Angelo whose talent and added support in covering our Wedding as our 2nd photographer ensured we got beautiful shots of the whole day. We now have a vast amount of photos to create a wonderful Wedding album to enjoy!

You know that all encompassing feeling when you’re revisiting a vivid memory? You can smell the fresh air, feel the way the sun hits your face just so, hear the voice of the loved one next to you, remember the joke that they delivered and instantly you’re laughing all over again. That magic is what I hope to capture as your photographer. It’s my job to hold those moments in time so that they don’t have to fade. You’ll forever be able to revisit the moment, see the exact way they smiled, revisit that incredible sunset, relive the memory and turn back time.

Jessica was truly amazing to work with for our wedding day. From the very first time we spoke, Jessica had a sweet and attentive communication style that immediately put us at ease. I remember after our first virtual meeting her even sending a little thank you gift for meeting with her. And she was so kind, she asked so many questions and seemed genuinely interested about us as a couple and about our dogs! I spoke with some other photographers who seemed to care less about us as people. Which is ultimately why we went with Jessica to begin with, she was just so nice and her pictures were amazing to top it all off. Her passion for her craft was evident in the beautiful, high-quality photos she captured. Also her photo package names were so great (THE STAR WARS - "I LOVE YOU, I KNOW”)! For our engagement shoot we suffered through some of the hottest, awful, sticky, July weather and she was positive the entire time, managed to get amazing shots and deal with our crazy dogs! Before the wedding, Jessica was always easily reachable, and very on the ball. And will always be your biggest cheerleader, anytime I posted anything on Instagram, Jessica would be there celebrating, she is truly a delightful and genuine person! And I think her run through of the wedding day was the first one I got and it was perfect! And she went to the venue a week before the wedding to scope out the absolute perfect spots to take photos! On the day of the wedding, Jessica was able to calmly get every picture perfect, meanwhile making silly dad jokes to help us feel more relaxed in front of the camera. She was amazing at trying to calm down our crying moms, and giving us some moments just to ourselves, listening to literally everything we said, and always making sure we were okay, all while getting amazing shots! And all of our guests loved her! We had people reaching out during and after the wedding to tell us how wonderful Jessica was. Everyone was obsessed with her, both of our mom, my sister, my bridesmaids, even the best man kept talking about how great she was, how amazing everything went, and how nice she was with everything! Meanwhile I am sure it was like trying to her cats to get some of the photos together, especially when we both wanted huge extended family photos, but she was positive and amazing through it all! Jessica went above and beyond on our special day, making sure everything was perfect. I am sure I even missing some of the little touches she added to our wedding. And we are so grateful to have had her as our wedding photographer. She says on her website “YOU CAN CALL ME JESS (SHE/HER). AKA YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND!” And that is honestly how I felt throughout the whole process, literally love her! And I mean the photos really speak for themselves, they are absolutely flawless!

We cannot recommend Black Walnut Farm enough—it was the perfect place for the wedding of our dreams! From the breathtaking forest ceremony site that felt like stepping into a fairytale, to the warm and vibrant barn that created the ideal setting for our reception and dance party, to the sprawling wildflower gardens that surrounded our golden cocktail hour — every part of the venue is magical. The venue owners, Sarah and Jim, were incredible to work with—so flexible and supportive in helping us create a wedding that truly reflected us. They not only encouraged our own ideas but also suggested thoughtful details we wouldn’t have considered on our own, making our day even more special. It felt like a true collaboration and both my wife and I felt understood by them in this partnership. What really stood out is how effortlessly beautiful and well-equipped the venue is. We only added some simple table flowers, and that was it! It’s truly a “ready-to-go” venue that makes wedding planning so much easier while still looking stunning. We’re already looking forward to attending more events at Black Walnut Farm so we can keep the connection to this incredible place. The Music Boutique was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the very beginning, Scott was extremely helpful and responsive, and always providing us with great ideas, suggestions, and guidance to make our day special. We had a duo playing for our ceremony and during the cocktail hour and then we had a small 3 person band playing for our reception. And it was the perfect amount of people. We had spoken to some other bands and they all kept saying we need some big band for the reception, but since we were having less than 100 people at the wedding, we didn’t think it made sense to have like a 10 person band, it just seemed like it would overwhelm the whole wedding. And we knew we wanted a band component since my father plays guitar and I had a feeling would want to play a song at some point. Then we spoke with Scott, he seemed to understand our vision of having a small band. He loved the idea of my father playing a song, and made suggestions on when was the perfect time for him to play, and even laughed along with our idea of playing “September” by Earth, Wind, and Fire, over and over again, since we were getting married on “the 21st night of September” (we did not do this)! The day of the band was amazing! They even took the time to learn our first dance song, which was a fairly unknown track, and played it beautifully, and surprised us with playing it. Since we thought it was just going to be a recorded version of the song. That was very special to us! And they were more than happy to let my dad play his song to us. Overall, the band's performance was lively and engaging, and they kept our guests dancing all night long. We couldn't have asked for a better band to help make our wedding celebration so memorable, and couldn’t have done it with Scott!

Awarded Best of Zola
I cannot emphasize enough how much we loved working with Matthew. I'm going to break this review down into a few areas that I think were particularly meaningful to my experience working with Matthew: Photo Style I think Matthew's portfolio speaks for itself, but I just appreciate so much how his style blends dreamy romantic shots with a photojournalistic approach. My wedding photos really feel like they captured not only the memories of the day, but the feelings we had. Pre and Post Wedding Communication From our initial booking, Matthew was extremely easy to talk to, and made it easy to understand and talk through the details of our contract and what we could expect. I think for people who are planning a wedding for the first time don't realize how much having a vendor who is patient, detail-oriented, and willing to hold your hand and guide you through the process of booking, understanding your goals, and planning for your special day matters, and Matthew could teach a masterclass in this. The pre-work Matthew did of planning, researching the venue, coordinating, and communicating effectively and efficiently was next-level professionalism, and really sets the bar for what it means to book a wedding photographer. I also think it's important to note that all of the post wedding communication has been top-notch – I think it would be understandable to call the job done after the check is paid, but quality of our communication has been consistently amazing. Day-Of Logistics / Shot Direction Matthew and his second photographer followed the plan we had set pre-wedding to a T. They were actively leading the coordinating and making sure we had all of the necessary people ready to keep to our timeline. When it was time to do different set shots (family, bridal party, ceremony, sunset), Matthew had locations in mind and was able to give guidance that made us feel comfortable and natural while getting so so many amazing shots (in very constrained timeframes). Personality I think Matthew has a very high emotional intelligence, and he was so good at genuinely making everyone feel comfortable in subtle ways. My family and my husband are all very camera shy, and notoriously hate getting their photos taken. There were so many little interactions and things that Matthew did and said that made each person feel comfortable in their own way. A few examples that come to mind: - At one point, my mom was leaning against a staircase, and Matthew took a portrait of her and told her she was a natural at posing – up until that point, she had been feeling and looking nervous, and after that she really opened up and looked so happy and comfortable. - My dad is extremely camera shy, hates being on camera and typically looks terrified and self conscious in photos. Matthew said a few things while he was taking our photos that I think really made my dad focus on how excited he was for me and my wedding, and you can just see how happy and loving he is in the photos.

We absolutely loved working with Dahlia Events for our wedding. Deliece was our main point of contact, and she was truly a joy and an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. She took care of everything we needed, and so much more than we even knew to ask for. Deliece came prepared with spreadsheets, thoughtful questions, and clear guidance that helped us navigate decisions we didn’t even realize we needed to make, but that proved to be essential. Her organization and attention to detail made the entire planning process feel manageable and well-supported. She handled communication with all of our vendors seamlessly and always made us feel completely taken care of, no matter the detail. When a few hiccups came up along the way, she addressed them with such ease, professionalism, and genuine empathy that we never felt stressed or worried. Beyond her incredible competence, Deliece also brought the warmest, most positive energy, our calls were always something we genuinely looked forward to. And on the wedding day itself, nothing was missed (and I truly mean nothing). Everything ran so smoothly, allowing us to fully enjoy the day without a single concern. We cannot recommend Dahlia Events highly enough. Working with Deliece was one of the very best decisions we made for our wedding.

Lisa was hands down one of my top vendors for my September 2024 wedding. Ultimately when booking vendors we had two non- negotiables- affordability and character. I met with several photographers before her and either their pricing was not within our range or I didn’t feel any “connection” with them. When I met Lisa over FaceTime I was in Target with my two toddlers because I had my schedule mixed up. She laughed about it and we were able to have a productive meeting despite the mix up. I hired Lisa not long after and I am so glad I did. Besides from being a phenomenal photographer, her personality is what put the cherry on top. She is detail oriented and assertive - like myself- and had a very efficient way of photographing our bridal party where we were even able to enjoy our cocktail hour without having a first look. She was excellent and extremely patient with our two kids. Our family loved her as did we! We were even able to get her out on the dance floor for a bit! We wish we didn’t live so far away otherwise we would be using her as our photographer a whole lot. Thank you Lisa for being such an important part of our day and for having such an incredible heart.

We chose The Wedding Foundry for several reasons. First is that we wanted something unique and beautiful, and felt the Enchanted Orchard was exactly that. We also really liked that this was almost an "all-inclusive" venue in that they have a wedding photographer, officiant, day-of coordinator, and caterer. After speaking with Billiam we booked, during the winter, and had not seen the venue; only photos. An absolute great decision. Billiam and Erica are thoughtful, organized, knowledgeable and overall a pleasure to work with. The online portal was easy to use and made communication and organization a breeze. Erica is an outstanding photographer, we're incredibly happy with our photos and had fun the day-of. We had so many compliments about the beauty of the venue and the food by Lekker Catering. Cathy was on top of everything, and Michele delivered a beautiful ceremony. We couldn't be happier with our wedding day. Thank you.

I can’t even put into words how grateful I am for Beth at Hudson Valley Flowers. I approached my wedding floral plan almost nothing about flowers and with just a vague vision—lots of whites and blues, a mix of wildflowers and garden-style blooms—and she brought it to life beyond anything I could have imagined. One of my favorite memories of the whole day was when she arrived with the bouquets—mine and my bridesmaids’—and they literally took my breath away. Every detail, from the ceremony flowers to the cocktail hour and reception, was stunning. I cannot recommend Beth highly enough!

A good friend of mine has said that my brand is to care. She isn’t wrong-my brand is one of caring because my being is one of caring. I’ve been a wedding photog for 14+ yrs. I find that being a wedding photog is a gift - I barely have the words to describe how special it feels to be invited into clients’ most momentous & intimate wedding moments over & over again. I’m a champion for the weird & whimsical, the fun & funky - even & especially on wedding days. Plan your day the way you want to, trends be damned. Let your wedding day reflect your joy. That’s what we’re all there to celebrate, anyway. ✨

We cannot recommend Sweet Alice Photography enough!!!! If you are getting married in the Hudson Valley area, you won’t find a more professional, personable or talented photographer than Erica! When we decided to spend our lives together, we knew we wanted a wedding that was an authentic presentation of who we were; a celebration of two families coming together that was filled with color and nature. We called upon family and close friends to help us with their talents for many elements of our wedding, but knew we needed a professional behind the lens to capture our big day. Erica at Sweet Alice Photography seemed like the perfect fit for us. Her honest and candid photos tell a story that feels real without excessive filtering. We felt so comfortable working with Erica. She was cheerful, communicative and accommodating through every step of the process. Regular email updates and words of encouragement arrived in our inboxes unprompted, and even when we had to make a last minute venue change she was so incredibly supportive. She really felt like part of the family! We loved the preview shots she sent us within days of the ceremony and couldn’t wait to share them with all our guests. We were surprised to receive all our images so quickly and in an adorable gift box with the coolest flash drive!!!

We got married on our property in upstate NY and KR occasions helped provide day of coordination and SO much more. Kayce who is the founder, owner and operator helped coach us through the process, provided regular therapy and sourced some amazing vendors, who made the day so special. I would highly recommend that anyone getting married either at a venue or on your property use a coordinator so that you can relax on the day and feel assured that all will go to plan. Kayce is very experienced, knows what works and what doesn’t and fully takes charge to get the job done. People don’t generally follow directions at events and Kayce made sure that we stayed on schedule and didn’t have any regrets after the big day. Highly recommend KR occasions - you will be in safe hands and won’t regret the investment.

When we started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted a laid back vibe where it felt like we were spending real, quality time with our loved ones. We wanted it to feel formal and special, but also like a little vacation where we could relax and let our hair down. And most importantly, as a couple that works in music and production, we really wanted it to feel like a music festival. Full Moon Resort completely delivered on our vision, and most importantly, took so much stress out of planning the whole weekend. First of all, the venue is gorgeous. Even though it was cold and we moved our ceremony under the tent, the landscape and the rustic charm of the grounds just can't be beaten. The pavilion is so gorgeous you don't need to go overboard with decor! The team at Full Moon really, really knows what they're doing. Every time I began to get stressed during the planning process, the events team would reach out with guidance and questions to keep me on track with planning. They've seen it all and had answers to every question I had. THE FOOD. The portions are insane, and everything was delicious. Our guests raved about it. We had gone back and forth on if we wanted a cake, but at the tasting we had a vanilla and peach cake that was to die for and could not pass it up. And finally, the vibes. The entire wedding weekend felt like a dream. It was so relaxed and so FUN. The Roadhouse for the after party was unbelievable. Our guests are still raving about it. If you're looking for a campground vibe at a great value, this is it. We wish we could do it all over again.

Ani was an absolute dream to work with! She is so kind, patient, and thoughtful, and truly made the entire process feel easy and collaborative. Because we booked her far in advance, our vision evolved a bit throughout planning, and she was incredibly thorough and helpful every step of the way—creating updated vision boards, adjusting pricing, and walking us through options as things changed. Her pricing was more than fair, especially considering the quantity of flowers and the sheer amount of work she and her team put into our day. They went above and beyond, and the final result was even more beautiful than we could have imagined, she truly brought our vision to life! One of our favorite photos captures our reaction seeing the flowers for the first time, and you can literally feel Ani’s warmth, kindness, and excitement in that moment. We are so grateful for all the care and effort she put into our wedding, and we can’t thank her enough. I only wish flowers lived forever, because I truly didn’t want to part with them!

DJ Lou Paris is a Wedding DJ out of the Hudson Valley area of NY, providing an extraordinary service to my clients. From gathering all the important information about your wedding in detail to having emergency plans in place to make sure there are no interruptions. I go the extra mile in everything that is done.

Awarded Best of Zola
My wife and I had Lou DJ our upstate wedding and it was more than we could have dreamed of. From the beginning, he was nothing but professional. He met with us multiple times prior to the event to go over music selection, flow of the ceremony day etc. His website was very easy to use and allowed us to have a large role in our music selection for the day, even for the reception dance portion. Everything was reviewed at least 3 times to ensure there were no hiccups, and also to make sure we wouldn't have to worry about anything on the ceremony day. On the day, Lou came in very early to setup and his equipment was extremely unobtrusive and sounded amazing. From the ceremony to reception (and especially cocktail hour), the sound was fantastic and there was not a single hiccup (even with an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour!). His flow through the reception was so smooth - and as a former college radio DJ, his music choice to fill in the gaps between the 'must plays' we sent him were impeccable!!! If you have a big heart for music and want it to be the backbone of any great party while having one of the most professional guys out there - Lou is 100% your guy. Thanks again Lou!!!!

From our first interaction with Valentino Entertainment, LLC, we were impressed by their thorough, relaxed, and reassuring communication style. Paul and his team provided a truly professional experience, with top-notch equipment and amazing value for the services they delivered. They worked tirelessly as our hard-working entertainers, genuinely caring about making our special day a blast. The reception environment was such an active party - at one point, I went back to the head table to get water and no one was sitting, as people were fully dancing or enjoying the music from the sidelines. Even when we had to make some last-minute changes to the day's details, Paul was able to roll with it seamlessly, even practicing our long last name until he got it right. The remainder of the reception was an absolute blast, with people dancing through the entire end of the night. It was truly the best day and party we could have had, and we would hire Valentino Entertainment, LLC again in a heartbeat. The photobooth was also a great value-add.

Talking with her was so easy, like we were already friends with her! Throughout planning, Julia was always responsive, flexible, and made it easy for us to provide the information she would need for the day to run smoothly. She even helped us map out the timeline of the day. My husband and I are not the most comfortable in front of the camera, but her photographing style was very natural and helped put us at ease. Our pictures came out so beautifully – I really feel like they capture organic moments of joy and love between us.
