In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

Our venue offers vast gardens for all times of year. There are thousands of gorgeous perennials and annuals to bring excitement to your big day. There are walking paths and cows grazing in the distant rolling hills. The sunflower fields bloom for about a month in the summer. The outdoor ceremony site offers garden all around and separate seating. The indoor reception space has base draping and lighting and includes tables/chairs/linens/ and decor. We have a huge selection of centerpieces and other useful decor included in every rental. Bonus: we also set up and take down whatever you pick from us! Bloom Lake Barn is a freshly renovated wedding and event venue located in Shafer, Minnesota near the gorgeous St. Croix River. Set in the picturesque St. Croix valley, Bloom Lake Barn provides that "out of the way" country charm a short 40-mile drive from the Twin Cities. The wooden barn is enormous and contains vaulted ceilings and gorgeous chandelier and cafe lighting.
