“I was looking all over for a photographer and when I landed on her Insta, I fell in love with Jumara's editing style, so of course I contacted her asap a year in advance just to make sure she was available for my date!! Overall, Jumara went above and beyond to capture the beautiful moments of our special day. Her attention to detail must be noted! One of our bridesmaids forgot to take a hairband off her wrist, and Jumara noticed it immediately and pointed it out. When we were taking family photos, she also spent extra time repositioning every specific person so that the overall photo would look balanced. I honestly just expected her to snap the photos as is, but nope, she made sure to stage each and every person so that everyone's face could be seen (and there were a lot in our LARGE family)!! Speaking of our large family, Jumara had SO much patience and handled it like a champ. I felt like it was so chaotic, but she didn't even seem to break out a sweat! At one point, she decided it would look better if some individuals sat down for the photos, so she and her second shooter quickly and tirelessly grabbed chairs for them (I would have been physically exhausted if I had to do that lol). I really appreciated her very specific posing instructions, so I didn't have to think about where to place my hands, or whether to smile, etc. Jumara was great about communicating with us throughout the event to make sure we were okay with taking more photos in certain areas, etc. I was constantly worried we were running behind schedule, but she reassured us when we had extra time to take even more photos, even including some spontaneous ones with my family before the ceremony! I felt sorry about her having to deal with the groom and I's large families, from coordinating our formal family portraits with its MULTIPLE configurations, to PATIENTLY following us around during the reception as we greeted each table and took pics. And at the end of this stressful and eventful day, as we were saying goodbye, Jumara didn't even seem tired at all! Thank you Jumara, I am so glad I found you!! Also, shout out to her assistant photographer Kirsten Joci for working tirelessly as well throughout the event! At one point amid the chaos of taking family photos, she even ran and got us boba to make sure we stayed hydrated and energized! Thank you! After the wedding, 3 days later, we received a few photos as a sneak peek, and they look amazing! I can't wait to get the rest!! (eta 4-8 weeks)”

Some other photographers try to act as wedding coordinators and end up turning the day into a photoshoot instead of a celebration, but not Michi and Maya. They had a few planned moments of staged/directed pictures, but otherwise their candid photography style turned out to be the most beautiful and authentic representation of a wedding that I've ever seen (ok maybe a bit biased there). I can't recommend enough that you hire Michi and Maya. We love them so much, and undoubtedly you will too!”

The whole idea scared me, and it actually took years for me to finish school and get married before I could really dive into making it a business. “A friend recommended Gabbie to do our wedding photos and I can’t imagine having chosen anyone else! She’s so energetic and upbeat while still being professional. Even though the bridal party hadn’t met her, everyone was so comfortable with her. Gabbie takes the stress away from having photos made – even for my husband who hates taking photos! Gabbie has a way of posing you so that it doesn’t feel unnatural. And she keeps you laughing the whole time that you forget about the camera, We got married in my church and it is very traditional with the pews and burgundy carpet. I was anxious to see how the ceremony photos would turn out and they were amazing – so light and airy that I didn’t even focus on the burgundy carpet! A friend of mine told me later that she didn't even notice Gabbie during the ceremony and I think that's a sign of a true professional - being able to capture photos without disrupting the moment. Using Gabbie for our engagement and wedding photos was one of the best decisions I made during the wedding planning process. We can’t wait to use her for many years to come to capture all of our special moments!”
