“I looked into countless wedding venues all across New England, but when my then-fiancé and I arrived at Scotland Fields for our venue tour, I immediately knew that it was the place we needed to host our wedding weekend. That gut feeling that this was somewhere really special never wore off, and I know that all of our guests felt that same feeling throughout the entire weekend. We also don't have enough positive things to say about the Scotland Fields team. My husband and I had a very specific vision about how we wanted our weekend to come together, and the team was nothing but accommodating to allow us to create the weekend that we envisioned. They were responsive when we had questions, helpful when we needed recommendations and guidance, and prompt to resolve anything that came up throughout the weekend (not that there was much of anything to resolve!!). We could not recommend this venue more highly, and will forever be grateful for the weekend that Scotland Fields allowed us to curate!”

“I had my eye on The Grove at Briar Barn Inn since it was simply a blueprint on an Instagram post. From the start, I knew it was going to be where I would get married someday. There is just something so quintessentially charming about the post and beam restaurant and the quaint New England Inn. The entire experience working with The Grove was great. We picked December 8th for not only the idea of a winter wedding but also for the holiday decor and availability for our preferred vendors. They were flexible in putting together the details and stuck to all the outlined dates and deadlines. We were assigned our wedding coordinator, Jeannine, about six weeks out as they said, and we were able to have our wedding details meeting soon after. The payment portal was easy to use, and the planning pod was intuitive and a great spot to keep important details in order. Jeannine answered all my questions promptly, and in the week leading up to the wedding, she was available for us to drop off all the decor ahead of time and spent time reviewing our vision one last time. On the day of, she was present, available, and helpful. She was detailed and organized and never pushy. She let us have our day and was there to help transition to the different elements seamlessly, paying attention to all the details so we wouldn't have to. Our guests have had only positive things to say about the entire day from the incredible food and the overall atmosphere. The only critique I have of the entire experience is the check-in process at the Inn. We had a 20 room block and ended up with 29 of the 30 rooms booked by our guests. The Inn has a very strict 2pm early check-in for 50 fee or 3pm otherwise check-in. We had a Sunday wedding in December where we had a first look and formal portraits at 2pm before a 4:00 ceremony because of the early sunset. We weren't able to stay Saturday night due to another wedding buy-out. The Grove accommodated me by making the hospitality suite available for us to get ready in; however, the Inn did not accommodate the groom getting ready. We rented out the Silo/Library for 250 to try to have a space for the men to get ready, but they didn't set up the privacy screen and there were too many people milling around for him to get changed in the non-private space. After a lot of inquiry from our wedding coordinator, our officiant, and our makeup artist, they finally let him into the room at 1:45 for the additional 50, but at that point it was only enough time for him to drop his phone and wallet. He ended up changing in the single stall bathroom in the basement of the Inn, which is a nice bathroom of course, but we would have liked a little more flexibility for us to have 1 room with early check-in to give him a bit more privacy. Flipping one room early for the bride and groom doesn't seem like a lot to ask in the grand scheme of the day or even offering some alternatives - we likely would have paid for a full extra night even if we couldn't get into the room the night before just to have the spot, but they didn't give us any options to work with until 1:45 p.m. ahead of 2pm call time. My recommendation for future couples is to negotiate into the wedding contract for something ahead of time if you could potentially run into the same issue, especially if you're out of towners who don't have other options nearby.”

He coordinated with all of the vendors, made sure everyone understood the timeline and took care of all of the little details to ensure everything went smoothly. The staff were also extremely friendly and on the ball with everything, I am beyond impressed with the Westbrook Inn and their staff. The value that you get with the tent, bar, staff, chairs/tables, set up/break down, coordination and so much more is extremely rare to find around here. They recently hosted a micro wedding reception for my brother and also did a fantastic job. The Barn sits on 25 acres and can accommodate up to 225 guests. We have a separate ceremony patio, a lawn ceremony option as well as a cocktail hour veranda. Ceremonies can take place on the patio, the grounds or under the trees or almost anywhere couples would like to on the property. We are an a la cart venue, which means we are a blank slate for you to create the wedding of your dreams. We offer ceremony benches a wooden arbor and a good amount of decor and lighting. “Fortland is truly the best wedding venue ever!! We got married there in August and it was better than we could have imagined. From the start, Ashley and Stacey were incredible to work with. Fortland isn’t a plug-and-play venue, which is part of why we chose it, but it also means having a team who really knows the island matters. They helped us think through how to use each space and shared ideas from past weddings that made our weekend feel personal and helped imagine how a wedding could work out in such a unique place. We did a full island takeover, which I would recommend if you can swing it. Our wedding parties stayed in the tents all weekend and it ended up being one of the highlights. Even friends who don’t ever camp were comfortable and fully into it immediately. Our rehearsal dinner on the overlook deck was stunning, and wrapping the night around the campfire was super fun for both us and our friends and family. On Saturday, we used every part of the island we could. The ceremony on the dock was calm and beautiful, looking out towards Fort Gorges and sailboats. Cocktail hour on the parade ground overlooking Casco Bay felt quintessentially Maine. Stefan offered an optional fort tour that a surprising number of guests loved. Dinner inside the bastion as the sun set through the stone windows was unreal. Then we had a band under the community tent and it turned into the kind of party you hope for but can’t fully plan. Every shift in location made the next part of the night feel new and exciting. The staff really makes Fortland what it is. Katrina and Stefan, the owners, care deeply about the property and about the people getting married there, and you feel that all weekend. Grace and Jo were the caretakers on the island with us all weekend and were so fun and easy to be around while also being incredibly on top of everything. If you’re looking for a traditional ballroom wedding, this isn’t that. But if you want an experience where your guests feel immersed, connected, and a little bit off the grid in the best way, Fortland is hard to beat. We'll definitely be visiting Fortland again every chance we can get.”

The barn at ColdSpring Farm was built in 2008-09 and updated as a venue in 2019. It is a true post and beam barn intended originally for our horses but they prefer to be outside no matter what the weather or season! The barn is rustic yet elegant and has many lovely features to facilitate your special day! The downstairs is fully equipped for dining or dancing, cocktails or even your ceremony should rain threaten. The upstairs is bright, open and typically where dinner is served and a great place for dancing into the evening. A sweet Bride's Cottage sits near our ceremony area. It is a magical little cottage meant for the bride and her party. The ceremony area is fully of live edge benches and a beautiful cedar arbor. And finally, the patio has a large fire pit, a bocce court, rustic tables and plenty of spots for s'mores and fun throughout your day and evening.
