I'll never forget the first time I went to the Rocky Mountains with my family, I was absolutely blown away by how beautiful everything was. I clearly remember thinking I HAD to get as many pictures as I could so I would never forget a single second of that vacation. And from that moment on, a love of capturing memories emerged. In college, I landed a job as a photographer for the newspaper and was a TA for film photography. I chose a major in psychology, but admittedly, I spent most of my time shooting events on campus or in the dark room obsessing about the perfect exposure.

Relationships-they are what my business and life are built on. At the end of a wedding day, it's not uncommon to hear from not only my couples, but their families and the bridal party that they loved working with me, they couldn't believe how fun and smooth the entire day went and can't wait to work together again. During my time at The University of Iowa, I immersed myself in the world of art, majoring in Studio Art. My coursework encompassed a wide range of disciplines, including art history, photography, design, painting, drawing, ceramics, printmaking, and metalworking. While I loved exploring these various mediums, I found myself torn between them, unable to decide on a single career path. One night, a brilliant idea struck me: I didn't have to choose. This realization sparked the creation of Kayza & Vine Creative Co., a photography studio that allows me to combine my passion for art with my love of capturing moments and stories through the lens.
