Joseph Mayden Photography is a veteran-owned wedding photography and film studio based in Whitefish, Montana, serving couples statewide and worldwide. I specialize in weddings, elopements, and adventure-based celebrations that prioritize real moments over forced poses. My background in the U.S. Navy and law enforcement shapes how I work—calm under pressure, precise with logistics, and fully prepared for the unpredictable. I guide couples through planning and timelines, document the day as it unfolds, and deliver true-to-color, cinematic imagery with no image caps and no travel fees within Montana.
I combine creative storytelling with military-level planning and reliability. Clients get full galleries, finished images, and clear communication—no gatekeeping or surprise upsells. I’m comfortable managing complex timelines, difficult terrain, changing weather, and high-stress moments without disrupting the experience. As an FAA-certified drone pilot with over a decade of flight experience, I use aerials intentionally and safely. My role is to take control behind the scenes so couples can stay present, confident, and focused on their wedding day.

A photography that does it all
My husband and I weren't sure of all of the details of our wedding day when we flew out to Montana. Choosing Joseph to be our photographer was hands down the best decision we made. He talked us through a lot over the phone, and even met us in person a few days prior to our wedding to go over details. He gave fantastic recommendations, took the time to understand what our priorities were and vision was, and provided us with many options to make our vision come true. Joseph pays close attention to detail, is enthusiastic, creative, personable, and professional. He truly made the day about us and captured all the amazing moments. We are so grateful to have the beautiful, timeless photos of our special day. In addition, Joseph came well prepared and thought of all the little things we completely overlooked. Thanks to him, it was a great experience, flawless day, and we got to enjoy it to the fullest with the best memories captured for us.

Joseph was so organized and helpful, he made us a timeline and helped our day run incredibly smooth. We got family photos done quickly and got so many pictures without feeling like our whole day was just spent taking pictures. He helped instruct groomsmen/bridesmaids and family and coordinated with th dj throughout the day. He constantly made sure we were feeling good and not stressed. He truly made our day feel seamless and easy. On top of all that our pictures came out amazing. He sent several edits of each photo so we could pick how we liked them edited and offered to change anything if we wanted. We got such a variety of posed and candid pictures. Thank you Joseph!!!!
