I have loved the concept of photography and taking still shots since I was in elementary school when I got my first camera from Santa. Each year after that, he brought me a new one until my senior year. I ventured over to Best Buy and bought my first DSLR. At that point, I had no clients or any intention of making money from my work. Fast forward some (several) years, I’m an attorney and I only do a few shoots a year, but I am focused on growing my business, especially now that we have moved to the DSM area. VIDART's chief photographer studied at Columbia for film and U of I for foreign languages and philosophy, and went to Loyola for graduate studies. He worked at Lyric Opera of Chicago filming operas before joining VIDART. He is the author of the college textbook Cinematography 101, and has worked with John de Lancie (Q in Star Trek: TNG) on the science documentary The Reality of Time. Michael has also worked on the sets of over a dozen other feature films.
