NY Pizza House Inc

4.5

Los Angeles, CA
  • Starts at $1,000
  • Offer

working in New York pizzerias, moving through different shops, long shifts, high volume, no shortcuts. That’s where the standard was set. Five years ago, I moved to Los Angeles and bought my first pizza truck with one goal: bring real New York–style pizza to the West Coast. We focused strictly on catering, built for speed, consistency, and large crowds. Since then, we’ve grown into a high-volume catering operation, serving hundreds of guests per event and working with brands like Nike, Skechers, Netflix, Amazon, and Alo. We know how to execute — on time, under pressure, and at scale.

NY Pizza House was incredible! They catered our event flawlessly, serving hot, authentic New York style pizza to a large crowd. The team was professional, efficient, and made everything easy for us. The food was a huge hit everyone loved it! Highly recommend for any corporate or private event.

Since our venue did not have a preferred vendor list or a built-in catering team, we were given maximum flexibility (which is also intimidating, as the choice and freedom can be a bit overwhelming). To help narrow things down, our planner prompted us to choose a single type of cuisine that we like, and work from there. We both love New Orleans / Cajun cuisine, so enter My House. From their first proposal, we were all in. It featured childhood favorites like fried catfish, and out-of-the-ordinary passed appetizers like mini chicken & waffles. Our first calls with them were relaxed, collaborative and informative. Our first tasting, while kinda pricey (isn't everything?), went really well - and gave us a chance to provide more feedback and tweaks, which were promptly applied to later estimates and menus. As our planning evolved, it was a little tough to try to keep the budget in check, and it meant making some tough calls to cut costs (for instance - jettisoning late night bites), My House was always willing to work with both us and our planner on finding financial solutions - but there were a few moments where we felt like we didn't know what to expect, and stressed out a bit when we saw the latest numbers. I suppose this is part of the process for lots of couples. I never lost faith that they'd turn it out on the big day, and I'm happy to share that they did just that. They created an incredibly tasteful display for our buffet, which struck a balance between rustic and elegant. The staff was helpful, efficient, and professional - but I want to give special highlight to Simone. Simone was personable, diligent and intuitive. She knows exactly what she's doing, any couple would be very lucky to have her running any aspect of their event - because she does it with aplomb. The food was absolutely delicious. Big, bold flavors - zesty, crunchy, creamy, smoky, cheesy, sweet and spicy and everything in between . We loved hosting such a delectable menu that departed from the traditional wedding fare, but stayed true to the cuisine of New Orleans and the tastes of Southern comfort. So, so, so, so good!

The Kookery LLC

5.0

Los Angeles, CA
  • Starts at $2,500

Founded by Food Network winning Chef Shieya, The Kookery is a craft catering company focused on making your dream wedding experience a reality. We specialize in curating menus as unique as you! We collaborate with you and your vendors for a perfect experience down to the smallest details.

Awarded Best of Zola
How can I even begin to describe the greatness that is Chef Shieya and the Kookery and how wonderful she made our wedding?! It started off with planning mode. With an American and a Brazilian getting married, we wanted to have a dish from each culture to make it special for our guests. With a sea bass dish and the steak picanha, everyone could choose. The sous vide steak was so tender, cooked to perfection, the color on it so beautiful, it was the winner. We had a few vegans at the party, and she took care of them ahead of time and knew exactly where they were sitting and who they were. And as always, Chef wanted to kick it up a notch, so she got some black truffles to really make the dishes pop. The full course meal from the watermelon salad to squid ink pasta to the main courses to the wedding cake she made herself was decadent, super tasty, and plated like a million dollars. Aside from the food being perfect, Chef Shieya and the Kookery team delivered a professional experience like no other. From setup to breakdown, they had it handled to where we didn't have to worry at all. The team arrived early in the morning. We went up to go get ready and change for the wedding party, and by the time we came back down they were already completely set up and serving guests. There are so many attention to detail things we didn't even think of, nor did we have to because they already knew what we needed, even though we didn't. So many touches that just made everything run so smoothly. We didn't have to do a thing, and all the guests were taken care of. People still talk about how good our wedding reception food was, saying it was the best they've ever had, better than the regular boring standard food at other weddings. Our special day was made so much more magical because of Shieya and her team. She does everything only to perfection, and even goes a step further to make it personal and unforgettable. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Fire and wood was one of the most memorable things about my whole wedding. Everyone loved the food! My roots are in the east coast, so when I read about Chef Thomas and saw his food photos, I was drooling with anticipation. I loved what he had to offer on his catering menu but I challenged him to make a few fun twists for me. My close family and friend from NYC/NJ gave it all a chef’s kiss approval. I went home with leftovers and my hubby and I relived the moments for a week! 10/10

Border Grill Catering

5.0

Los Angeles, CA

In 1985, Chef/Owners Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken debuted the first Border Grill as a small, forty seat “taco stand” on Melrose out of a deep affection and appreciation of the Mexican kitchen. Effortlessly blending their classical culinary training with conscientiously-sourced ingredients, and regional recipes inspired by home cooks from Oaxaca to Mexico City, street vendors in Tijuana, and taco stands along the Yucatan and Baja coasts, the award-wining chefs continue to evolve their California-inflected Mexican-inspired cuisine.

My wife and I are so glad we chose Border Grill to cater our wedding this past May. Taylor at Border Grill was great to work with and she made it very easy to communicate with and was always there for help throughout the process. Border Grill’s staff and bartenders were friendly and worked efficiently. Numerous guests stated how much they enjoyed the cocktails the bartenders prepared.

    Fusion Events

    5.0

    Los Angeles, CA
    • Starts at $5,000

I founded Fusion Events to answer a call that I heard. It was that feeling that I could found a business that would push boundaries and allow me to deliver what my clients wanted. Food and Events that are Fresh, Bold, and Memorable.

I don't even remember how many came up to me at the wedding to compliment the food, but it was a lot. They all started with “usually wedding food isn’t great, but ALL of the food has been so good.” ALSO, when we sat down for dinner Felicia brought us a plate of apps because we were too busy during cocktail hour to have any and she wanted to make sure we got some too. I loved that so much, just so thoughtful. So thank you Fusion catering for a great wedding experience.

Catering should be totally stress free and an enjoyable part of your planning; we are here to help!

Food was incredibly important to us, and we wanted our catering search to be stress-free, so we contacted Fundamental from our venue’s (SmogShoppe) recommended vendor list. From the moment we connected with Fundamental, Cindy made us feel confident we could have a fantastic meal within our budget. The tasting experience was particularly special—personal, delicious, and our favorite part of our planning process. We kept it simple with three passed appetizers for cocktail hour and a family-style dinner, but the food was anything but simple! Guests raved to us all night that it was the best wedding food they’d ever had—and we couldn’t agree more! Choosing a favorite dish is nearly impossible, but the fried chicken sliders, ahi tuna tacos, garlic basil sea bass, and wild mushroom pasta were definite standouts. For dessert, we initially planned to have pies from a local shop to add a personal touch, but with limited fridge space, we opted for Fundamental’s dessert bar. We’re so glad we did—everything was handled seamlessly, and the desserts were a huge hit. They also managed the bartending, including high-quality margaritas and Old Fashioneds that perfectly complemented the evening. All the food and drinks were exceptional, far beyond traditional wedding fare. I highly recommend Fundamental for all your catering needs!

        • Serves Los Angeles, CA

At Little Lily’s Kitchen in Los Angeles, we understand the difference between "custom" and "bespoke". One is choosing bits and pieces of someone else's vision, and the other is actually creating something that is YOUR vision. We start with a blank sheet of paper, and on that, we work with you to create an experience that is all about you and yours. A reflection of the couple. Something to be genuinely excited about sharing with your guests. Our chefs build a completely original menu for you, after an in-depth consultation is completed. The consultation allows us to understand the vision for your guest experience and individual needs.

Critic’s Choice Catering & Event Production, Inc.

        5.0

        • Serves Los Angeles, CA

Founded by individuals passionate for creating a deliciously, interactive party environment. We are Critic’s Choice, a family owned and operated full service catering and event production company based in Redondo Beach, CA. We began our culinary journey in 1984 and have remained true to our core values since the very start. We believe in honest, fair pricing and locally sourced, custom menus made from scratch, with love daily. We invite you to taste the magic and help us celebrate decades of client satisfaction, successful event production and outstanding cuisine.

I absolutely loved working with Critics Choice Catering for our wedding! They were incredibly accommodating with our budget, which we truly appreciated. One of the biggest highlights was that the venue partners directly with Critics Choice, so having both the catering and tableware handled in-house removed so much stress from the planning process. Kaycie was wonderful to work with — enthusiastic, organized, and genuinely invested in bringing our vision to life. From our very first tour to the food tasting and final details meeting, she listened carefully to our needs and was always quick to respond to every text or call. Everything turned out picture-perfect, and it was magical seeing the venue transformed for our big day. Kaycie also provided excellent vendor recommendations, which saved me so much time since we had a short planning timeline. We used her suggested photographer, florist, and bridal party makeup team, and they were all fantastic. I highly recommend adding the day-of coordination with Kaycie and her team. I didn’t have to answer a single question on the wedding day — everything ran seamlessly. The coordinators were amazing, especially when I had a bustle mishap with my dress and they fixed it in seconds! They truly took care of us all evening, greeting us with drinks and appetizers upon arrival and managing the timeline perfectly. The Critics Choice Catering chef curated a French-inspired wedding menu to reflect us as a Franco-American couple, and the ideas were absolutely amazing. We selected appetizers including a fruit and cheese board, goat cheese and onion puff pastry, and smoked salmon crème fraîche blinis. For dinner, we enjoyed a French winter pear, blue cheese, and endive salad, followed by boeuf bourguignon, magret de canard (duck breast), ratatouille, and gratin dauphinois potatoes. We even had a late-night snack of al pastor tacos with pineapple salsa, which was a huge hit! The food tasting experience was excellent, and overall the food on the wedding day was outstanding. Unfortunately, the duck was slightly overcooked and a few of my immediate family members were served later than others, minimal complaints. Aside from that, everything was excellent — and the bartender was absolutely outstanding! Overall, between the incredible catering, thoughtful menu, seamless coordination, and amazing service, Critics Choice Catering truly helped make our wedding day unforgettable. I highly recommend them to any couple looking for an stress-free and delicious wedding experience.
