Poquonnock Plains Urban Farm

  • Serves Thompson, CT

Hello! I’m MaryAnn, the designer and founder of Poquonnock Plains Urban Farm. I create seasonal, artful wedding florals for couples who care about beauty, intention, and a deeply personal design experience. Working together, my goal is to make the floral design process feel effortless, joyful, and inspiring. I take the time to understand your style, your priorities, and the story you want your wedding day to tell. Whether it’s an intimate celebration or a grand estate wedding, I approach every detail with creativity, care, and a commitment to excellence.

Awarded Best of Zola
Maryann was incredible to work with. My husband and I put our wedding together in a month and Maryann could not have made the experience more stress free. I am a Capricorn, incredibly controlling when it comes to planning and Maryann made me so comfortable I told her to take the reins. I gave her my vision and it was as though she crawled into my head and executed everything perfectly. Our beach ceremony was followed by our reception at Ocean House where bud vases of her wildflowers danced beautifully down the center of the table with votives and wild greenery. My wildflower, beach wedding would not have been what it was without her. I recommend Maryann for any event. Her positivity radiates through her skill and she adds color to any event!

Farm Couture Flowers

5.0

  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Thompson, CT

Farm Couture Flowers is the design studio at Muddy Feet Flower Farm. I grow over 100 varieties of cut flowers from April through November and incorporate them into lush garden-style arrangements and bouquets.

Where to begin? Kristin is an artist. In the age of insane wedding Pinterest boards and over-planning every detail, we gladly handed the floral design and aesthetics over to Kristin. She uses her own flowers from her farm, so she's both local and sustainable, and if you're interested in supporting a small, woman-owned business, this is the way to go. We trusted her direction and expertise and it was the best decision we could have made. When we walked into our venue on the day-of, we were both floored. It was so much better than I could have even imagined; we received so many sincere compliments from guests. Our wedding photographer said he thought they were the best wedding flowers he'd seen. The floral design was original, organic, and creative, and the greenery was gorgeous. If you choose Kristin as your florist, trust her to lead the way. It'll be better than anything you could have imagined!

Mountain Laurel Floral Designs

5.0

  • Serves Thompson, CT

Pam and I are the heart behind our farmer-florist studio, and we’re so excited to share a little about who we are. I’ve owned and operated my own flower farm for the past four years, and I bring an additional four years of experience in both farming and floral design. Pam, my business partner, is a full-time marketing manager with a love for intentional connection—and she’s also a flower farmer herself, with three years of hands-on growing experience. We came together to combine our skills, passions, and creativity into a studio that celebrates sustainable growing and thoughtful floral design.

Working with Pam at Mountain Laurel Floral Designs was a dream. She is incredibly talented and her process is easy and collaborative. As an avid houseplant keeper, I had originally planned to make my own wedding floral decor, but realized quickly that I had massively underestimated the skill, expertise, time, and artistic talent that goes into wedding floral arrangements. Pam swooped in and literally saved the day! When I saw the final arrangements, I was completely blown away. The centerpiece flowers were absolutely stunning, the bouquets were perfect, and she even made boutonnieres and corsages for the grandparents. These flowers truly made the atmosphere of our wedding. I wish I had started with her from square one - it would have saved me mountains of stress and anxiety. Pam is a true professional who makes her clients feel completely at ease. She worked seamlessly with my day-of coordinator on the logistics and all communications were prompt, clear, and efficient. I was very impressed with how she took my minimal guidance (really just a pinterest board with a wide variety of flowers and our basic color scheme) and created a vibrant, cohesive, modern, and romantic look. If you want a florist who is a joy to work with and delivers breathtaking results, call Pam!

I ordered the silk magnolia bouquet (Shelbie Bridal Bouquet - Hand tied) and opted for the scent to be added. They arrived and already looked perfect with very minimal fluffing/adjustment. I was nervous the scent would be strong or too artificial but it was light and natural. They photographed beautifully and let me have a taste of home with the magnolias all the way across the country. Gorgeous.

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

4.9

  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Thompson, CT

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
Flower Moxie exceeded my expectations! We did a custom design and Cristen really captured what I wanted for our wedding day. The ordering process was so easy thanks to Cristen and I went further and did the modules to prep for getting them. As we got closer Alexa was so quick and helpful when I was panic asking a million questions. We had some delays and were getting close to my wedding day with little time to get the flowers done. Alexa jumped into action and was amazing in finding a wholesaler near me that had the flowers we wanted picked and ready for me to get in less than 3 hours. That made such a huge difference as I was able to have my helpers and get everything done before the day of my rehearsal dinner. On top of all of this I now am so proud to say I did all the florals for my wedding and they were everything I wanted! If you’re a fellow budget bride with a vision flower moxie is for you!

Fountainhead Floral Design

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

Awarded Best of Zola
Fountainhead Floral Design was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. Their communication style was clear, concise, and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. The quality of their work was simply amazing - the bridesmaids bouquets they created for us last minute were absolutely beautiful and perfect, and the centerpieces they designed were breathtaking. I had reached out to them in a panic less than a week before the wedding because my box of DIY bouquets got delayed, and they were able to step in and make the most stunning bridesmaids bouquets with barely any notice. Fountainhead Floral Design truly went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was perfect, and we are so grateful for their incredible service and beautiful work.

Little Blooms

5.0

I started my business in 2018, after I finished floral design classes from Cass School of Floral in Watertown, MA. I have had hands on experience from Floral Arts in Westford, MA and have completed over 75 weddings in my time as a floral designer. I have a little intern named Larry, a corgi-pit mix, who is the model for Little Blooms, who you will see a lot of on Instagram. I love using locally grown flowers as much as I can in my work, to really showcase 'farm to florist'.

Jackie at Petallion Floral was the absolute best choice we could have picked to do the flowers for our wedding. Flowers are very important to both me and my husband since both of our names contain flowers and as a special symbol throughout both our lives before we met and together. From the very beginning, I had a good feeling about Jackie because I could tell she really cared about our vision, even before we had confirmed her services, we had gone back and forth a bunch of times and she offered up some lovely ideas. She was very reachable, flexible and attentive and we had a super helpful meeting in person to go over all our ideas, she stayed longer just to make sure we were all on the same page and she knew what we wanted. She went the extra mile to make sure some specific ethnic flowers we asked for were on the arrangement menu! On our wedding day, she made everything go smoothly and the flowers looked BEAUTIFUL!! We got several compliments about how gorgeous they looked and our ceremony arch looked spectacular, as did my bridal bouquet and our reception table arrangements. We couldn't have asked for a better florist, aside from being a genuinely kind hearted woman and pleasant to work with, she worked with us to stay within our budget and did not gouge us like so many others in the business. Whoever else you are considering for your floral needs, do yourself a favor and pick Jackie. She is the hands down BEST!!!

My promise to you: I will infuse your wedding or special event with a burst of creativity, ensuring that every aspect speaks to the essence of who you are.

Awarded Best of Zola
Choosing Eliza and her team at Boom and Bloom was one of the single best decisions we made for our wedding. Florals play such a defining role in shaping an aesthetic, transforming a simple concept into a breathtaking reality, and from the moment we had our first call with Eliza I knew there was no other option. Her warmth, creative vision, and genuine enthusiasm made the entire experience an absolute pleasure. Throughout the planning process, Eliza went above and beyond to ensure every detail aligned with our vision. She thoughtfully created, and then refined, our mood board several times, already going above and beyond, checking in with me regularly and making adjustments with incredible care. One of the most meaningful touches was her designing special arrangements to honor both of my grandmothers on our memorial table. That level of sensitivity and intention truly set her apart. Every floral element from the aisle arrangements and ceremony arch to the centerpieces was executed flawlessly. Eliza didn’t just provide florals; she curated an entire aesthetic. She styled our table scapes and incorporated candles and uplighting that matched our dark and moody, romantic vibe to perfection. The results were nothing short of stunning. On the wedding day, Boom and Bloom handled everything seamlessly, from setup to take-down, with the added care of using sustainably sourced and recycled greenery and florals. The overall atmosphere was more beautiful than we ever could have imagined, and it’s all thanks to Eliza’s artistry, professionalism, and heart. We are endlessly grateful and we truly cannot recommend Boom and Bloom highly enough.

Lindsay was so amazing to work with! We hired her to do the flowers for our very small wedding, and the flowers were pretty much our only decor. Everything turned out so stunning. I only showed her a couple of inspiration/general ideas, and mostly told her that we just wanted bright seasonal (August) flowers, and to go ahead and do whatever she thought was best. We didn't have a set color palette since we didn't have a wedding party, so she really could choose whatever she wanted. This was the best decision I could have made because everything was even more beautiful than I could have imagined! Trust me, if you're not a picky bride, ask Lindsay to surprise you and you won't be disappointed!

Anika her team are wizards. Floral was my biggest priority and central to the overall vision. Not to brag, but several guests remarked on how it was "the best wedding they've been to," which I fully attribute to Marigolds. From the start, Anika was responsive and considerate. Throughout the process, she was incredibly supportive (especially when we, err, fell off with admin) and consistently patient. @New Brides! This is a unique skill that you'll cherish from your vendors! On top of being an absolute pleasure to work with, she and her team are true artists. I ambitiously asked for live moss to be installed on columns in the reception space and she delivered. All of my guests were floored. I can't think about it without wanting to cry! Moss aside, Anika and her team push boundaries across everything they do. From the bouquet and boutonniere, to the ceremony arch, it's clear that she has a distinct understanding of structure and design. The table scapes were also visionary, designed from moss platforms with anthuriums, garlic, and beech mushrooms–the latter coming as a complete surprise. She listened to our budget concerns, suggested reasonable and beautiful alternatives when necessary, and delivered unbelievable work. Can't recommend Marigolds Florals enough. Total professionals and artists. Seriously. Book them!

The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!

Flower & Twine was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. Their communication was on point, responsive, and professional throughout the entire planning process. The quality of their work was consistently high and dependable - they even delivered a beautiful flower wall in a pinch when we needed it most for our bride. Flower & Twine went above and beyond to ensure our special day was everything we dreamed of. I would highly recommend them to any couple looking for a reliable, talented wedding florist.
