In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

Almquist Farm is a fifth generation family farm homesteaded by Charles Almquist after he immigrated from Sweden in 1890. Our 75 acres of rolling hills and oak trees provide a spacious setting for a one location all day wedding celebration. Our heated and air-conditioned buildings give you the confidence of having a comfortable farm wedding regardless of the weather.

North Star Farm Event Center is a beautiful venue overlooking the Minnesota River Valley, located between the Twin Cities Metro and Mankato. Surrounded by oak trees and rolling fields, our historic farm blends timeless charm with modern touches for a truly magical wedding day. Venue pricing ranges from $6,000–$8,000+, depending on date and season, and includes wedding planning support, tables, chairs, linens, centerpieces, and additional décor (or DIY). Catered meals start at $13.50 per guest, and couples are welcome to bring their own liquor, beverages, snacks, and desserts to help save on costs. Beer and ice are through our affordable off-sale liquor provider. For approximately 200 guests, venue, bar, and meals typically total $10K–$12K, depending on your date (WOW!).
