Kam Wickam Photography was a fantastic choice for our wedding photography. They were great at communicating with us throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding. Their work was truly at a fashion editorial level, capturing every moment in an organic and natural way without feeling overly posed. They made us and our guests feel comfortable, allowing them to be in the moment and not focused on the camera. Emma Melin Studios

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $8,000

I am a queer, New York City-based photographer documenting candid joy and human connection. Drawn to emotion and the beauty in everyday moments, I approach my work with mindfulness and intuition – balancing gentle guidance with an observational presence. What I value most about my job is the ability to connect with people and witness their stories unfold in raw, vulnerable ways. I hope that my work is a reflection of these moments: honest, emotive, and intentionally seen.

Awarded Best of Zola
My husband and I got married on June 28, 2024, and I can confidently say our wedding would not have been ours without Emma. She came on recommendation to me, and it was like we were destined to meet. Emma completely understood our vision (my husband and I are both creatives, so we had a VERY detailed one!) and worked with us to get the photos and Super 8 video we wanted. She was so professional, keeping us on time, on track, and ensuring that we stayed on schedule. She is masterful at wrangling family members for photos and capturing those small, intimate moments nobody else would think to capture. (My cousin texted me after the wedding to say, excitedly, that her purse and shoes were captured on camera and she loved it!) Hiring Emma for our photographer was the easiest and best decision my husband and I made on our wedding day. We wish we could get married again so that we can hang out with her more! Hire her!

Sandy SooHoo Photography

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $6,000

With over ten years of experience shooting weddings in and around New York City, Sandy brings her eye for storytelling to each event she shoots, searching for genuine emotion and candid moments that capture every couple in a timeless way. Published in Brides, New York Weddings and Brooklyn Bride, Sandy's work walks the line between fine art and documentary photography, allowing each day to unfold naturally and be remembered artfully for decades to come.

Awarded Best of Zola
Sandy Soohoo is a dream. She is extremely talented and creative, knowledgeable about the industry, realistic about the challenges, reliable and responsive- all while being a joyous energy and pleasure to be around. For those reasons, I couldn't have imagined a better photographer for our wedding - or person to be by my side throughout that entire day and evening. She works with a variety of mediums (lens, cameras, flash/no flash) to obtain a variety of styles for the photos, which all turned out unique and fully capturing different "perspectives" of the event - and most importantly, capturing the true essence of the joy and outward and inner beauty of the wedding. The photos turned out beautiful, have this journalistic yet ethereal feel- an artistic quality which I believe is a rare skill. I'm so thankful for having worked with Sandy!!

Tess and Julia Weddings

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $2,400

Our names are Tess Mayer & Julia Wang and we are photography duo based in NYC. We met our freshman year at NYU Tisch and since then have run a magazine together, worked as teaching assistants at ICP & NYU, and shot our first wedding our senior year. Our style is a blend of candid documentary and stylized portraiture - we approach your day not as strangers following you around, but as excited guests (who happen to be carrying around cameras and massive lenses) who will most likely cry during your vows. We love small, intimate and relaxed weddings.

Awarded Best of Zola
We hired Tess to photograph our wedding and the experience was wonderful! When choosing a wedding photographer, you’re choosing someone to spend the day with you at some of the most emotional moments of your wedding day. Tess was an amazing choice for that role. She was kind, easy-going, and became a great friend throughout the day. We met over FaceTime well before the wedding to communicate our photo goals. She asked us to curate a Pinterest board for her and to set some “must have” photos. In addition to standard photos, we also got film photos. Her style throughout the day was to be a “fly-on-the-wall” but to also intermittently direct us to make sure we got the photos we had asked her for. My husband, who’s not much of a “photos guy”, was so impressed when we received the results. We loved working with her!

Blythe Thomas

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $1,500

Hi! I'm Blythe. I've worked primarily as a music video director and photographer for over 10 years. Along the way, I've taken photos of couples and loved ones during some of their most special moments - proposals, weddings, engagements, elopements, births. I truly find it to be such an honor and joy getting to capture timeless images with wonderful people.

Awarded Best of Zola
We absolutely loved working with Blythe and would highly recommend her for events and weddings. We wavered on whether we needed a professional photographer given our small, informal nuptials BUT we are so unbelievably happy we had Blythe to capture every moment. The photos were beautiful and with plenty of candid moments. Blythe was easy to work with, communicative, and brought a sense of calm to a day that can be hectic. Even better the turnaround on the images was quick - loved being able to share with family and friends not long after the wedding. We are so thrilled we'll have these pictures to remember our special day. THANK YOU, Blythe.

I started my journey as a portrait & fashion photographer, working with modeling agencies and brands, primarily in New York City and Dallas. Your story existed long before I stepped in and I want to honor that. I strive to capture each raw moment as it is — organically, as it unfolds. With a background in fashion and editorial work, I also incorporate romantic poses that truly make each couple shine. This guarantees beautiful imagery to look back on for years to come.

I'm originally from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania but I've lived all over the country and have finally landed in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. My personal hobbies include rock climbing, learning French, fine-tuning my espresso skills, and drinking the best wine I can get my hands on (yes, if you're getting married at a winery, I'm interested!). I've been photographing weddings since 2009 (that's 15 years!) and I'm still not even the least bit bored. Hell, I still cry at weddings on a regular basis. Staying emotional and in the moment is what allows me to capture the moments that matter most to my couples.

Rima is hands down the world’s best wedding photographer. Having been in a fair number of weddings and as a guest at countless others, I’ve had many experiences with wedding photographers, and Rima beats them all by a mile. She is very nice and extremely professional, and always knows how to get the perfect shot while seamlessly blending in with your guests. She also got us through the wedding party/family photos quickly and efficiently, which I really appreciated. Her videographer Robert was also fantastic - so kind, courteous, and professional! Rima also shot our engagement photos - she woke up insanely early to get sunrise pictures of us at Central Park, which were absolutely gorgeous. She is extremely flexible and patient, great qualities in a photographer! She also got us our previews of both our wedding and engagement pictures really quickly, which was fantastic, as we were so excited to see them. Rima was the first vendor we chose and we are so happy we were able to book her. If you book Rima, you won’t be disappointed!

Weddings by Sehee

5.0

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $3,500

Creating visual art is my undying passion, and delivering the most beautiful and important moments of people’s lives in the form of photography warms my heart, as I can offer them a memory they can never lose.

Sehee was definitely one of the highlights of our wedding experience. We were actually fortunate enough to find and work with her for our engagement photos first. We do not normally like taking pictures but Sehee made us love the experience. She was patient and kind and directed the whole shoot, even telling us how to pose. The photos came out so beautiful that we felt we’d only be comfortable with her taking our photos for our big day! For the quality and work she puts in, we thought she’d be so expensive to have for our wedding but her pricing was beyond reasonable! On the day of the wedding, as so much chaos was going on and going wrong, Sehee arrived and texted photos of how everything was looking and was just so incredibly sweet. It really made us feel calmer. As expected, our wedding photos came out BEAUTIFUL. Again, she helped us feel at ease and look natural while taking our photos. She really is a top tier photographer who I’d highly recommend. Her talent and professionalism went above and beyond our expectations, and we are so glad to have worked with her!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Blissfulstills Photography! From the moment we booked them for both photo and video for our wedding, I knew we were in good hands. Noble and Stevenson, our photographers, were absolute pros. My husband and I are terrible at posing, but they made us look like naturals in every single shot! They guided us through the entire process, making it fun and effortless, and the results were beyond stunning. But the real jaw-dropper? Carl, our videographer, crafted a wedding video that looks like an epic movie! Every moment is captured with such cinematic flair—it’s a masterpiece. Even a year later, I’m still in awe every time I watch it. The way they captured our day is something we’ll treasure forever. I recently found out that they don’t only just do weddings! I’m already planning to book them for every special event in our lives. Love you guys!

Serena Morin Photography

Hi! My name is Serena and I am a New York based photographer. My goal is to capture genuine moments between my couples and to enjoy the process along the way. I want all of my couples galleries to feel authentically them.

Awarded Best of Zola
From the moment I met Serena, I knew she understood the vision — natural, lifestyle photography that would capture the cozy, memorable moments of our neighborhood. We walked our usual loop through Central Park, and she used her artistic eye to beautifully showcase both our love and the beauty of the city we call home. Serena made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera, turning what could have felt like a “photo shoot” into a morning spent laughing and reminiscing, even my husband who doesn’t love the camera as much had a blast! The result is a stunning collection of photos we’ll cherish forever — especially now that we’re leaving NYC. We cannot recommend Serena enough! Some of our friends have since booked her based on our experience, and their galleries have been just as breathtaking. Serena has a true gift.

Chaz Cruz Photographers

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style

Chaz Cruz specializes in editorial portraiture and weddings. His style and humor brings out unique characteristics in his subjects which turn the photograph into something unique. Always looking at new ways to use found and created light, he enjoys producing new photographs that otherwise would not be encountered.

Awarded Best of Zola
We were looking for a bright, editorial look for our wedding photography, and fell in love with the images we had seen from Chaz Cruz.

Chaz was incredibly easy to work with - always so prompt in his replies, happy to answer questions, and had an amazingly detailed questionaire for us to fill out ahead of the wedding so that both he and his team knew exactly what we were after. The timeline he provided was also perfect, and left us knowing that our day would go smoothly! Although Chaz himself was not available to shoot our day, we won the lottery when we hired his associate, Celeste. Not only is she a true artist (we just received our huge sneak peek and every image is amazing) but she brought us so much joy. She was so much fun to be around all day, directed our family with such ease, charm, and efficiency during family portraits (what a gift), and was the perfect ‘fly on the wall’ when she needed to be. She is so skilled at capturing not just beautiful portraits, but incredible candid moments. We feel so lucky to have been able to work with both Chaz and Celeste for our wedding at the Wythe and can’t recommend them enough!

Liesl NYC

4.8

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $2,500

Hi! I’m Liesl, founder of Liesl nyc. I started my career at an old time photo tourist trap in South Dakota and came to the big city to be a fashion photographer (with a few stops along the way.) Though I found a love for portraits and weddings and made that my focus, I’ve kept the editorial aesthetic. Though I’ve lived in Brooklyn for 15 years I’ve kept the South Dakota demeanor. A calm and comfortable presence helps a lot when you’re not used to being followed around by a photographer. Getting great pictures shouldn’t be intimidating. It’ll be way more fun than you think

As soon as we booked our venue, we booked Liesl! My partner and I did not want conventional wedding photos. In fact, before even planning our own wedding, I cringed seeing so many wedding photos that looked exactly the same: overposed, soft filter, cheesy smiles. As a queer/trans couple, it was super important that we worked with someone who knows and respects queer love and doesn’t force convention when it comes to setting up the shots. When I saw Liesl’s work, I instantly thought “she gets it,” and working with her went above and beyond! With twenty years of experience shooting weddings, Liesl has the perfect balance of expertise, dynamism, and empathy. She is confident in what she does and keeps things professional, while also being someone we were earnestly so happy to get a beer with and hang and smooch in front of. The inclusion of an engagement session was an absolute dream, and let us have a preview of what the dynamic on the day would be like, which was, in a word, effortless. Liesl has an excellent sense of how much to direct and when to let people just be – and the results speak for themselves. We always felt like ourselves. Book Liesl – you will be so happy you did, and that you have her photos to keep the day going for years to come!

Alexandra Toy Photography

5.0

Brooklyn, NY

My goal is simple: to tell the honest story of your day as it unfolds. I don’t believe in fabricating moments—I believe in preserving the ones that are already happening, naturally and beautifully. With an editorial touch, I aim to create images that feel both real and artful, capturing not just how it looked, but how it felt.

Alexandra is literally a GODSEND! Her work is absolutely incredible, of course; but what really sealed the deal was her attention to detail and her attentiveness to me and my husband. Her ability to capture our raw emotions and candid moments in between left us stunned when we went through our wedding gallery. On top of this, she was extremely pleasant and warm, which was very needed on such a stressful important day; and she is very professional and has amazing communication skills. We are so happy and couldn’t have picked a better photographer for our wedding day.

I’m guilty of romantizing my life, from my morning coffee in the kitchen to the walk to the fancy grocery store that’s out of the way. It's how I like to look at life. I take notice and enjoy the small mundane things. It's the same philosophy I apply to photography. It lets me capture and romantize all the moments that go unnoticed but worth remembering.

Yvonne captured our destination wedding in Jamaica beautifully. She has great positive energy that put us at ease, and didn't miss a beat from Friday morning to late into Saturday night. Somehow she managed to capture every angle of our event with 80 guests. While she was seemingly everywhere, she was never obtrusive or overbearing. We're so grateful that Yvonne was able to capture our special day!

I’m Cameron, a husband and photographer who got my start in commercial and fashion work before falling in love with weddings while planning my own. I focus on editorial-style weddings, with a special love for candid, unscripted moments—the jokes from the speeches, the look of joy on relatives face, the tearing up during the ceremony. All these things that make each day unforgettable. The moments I cherish from my own wedding are the ones I aim to capture for my clients, so you can relive them for years to come.

We have chosen Cam as our wedding photographer and couldn't be happier so far! Cam has been super responsive and so friendly. He scheduled a call with us to get to know us as a couple and make sure we all had the same vision. We had our engagement shoot recently and we are so happy we chose Cam! My fiancé and I have never had professional pictures taken and Cam made it so easy. First, Cam created a great inspo board and invited me to collaborate on it. It was great that he put in all that work to make sure he understood what we wanted. He was so prepared that when he was checking out the details of our chosen site and found it was closed due to the government shut down. Cam didn't panic and helped us find a new location last minute. During the shoot, Cam helped us feel completely comfortable and at ease. You can tell Cam really cares about his art and the couples he works with. We are so excited to continue working with Cam!

She has great energy while shooting the day and that's the kind of people you want to surround yourself with on such an epic day, knowing you won't have to force any situations and be in the moment for all the right photos.

Oh hey, Liron here. I've been shooting weddings for over 12 years now and have traveled all around the globe to document couples on their big day. I am driven by the sense of nostalgia and my mission is to create honest images that will echo through time.

I am a wedding planner and have known Liron for over 6 years and he is one of my favorite photographers to recommend to my clients. His photographs continue to blow me away with their blend of artistry and simplicity and couples love his laid back vibe. Liron is professional with a great management team behind him at The WAC and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an outstanding wedding photographer

I’m Sabrina, an Austrian-South African photographer living in New York City. I shoot weddings, elopements and engagements — and as an avid traveler, I absolutely love shooting destinations. Raised between South Africa, Austria and Luxembourg, I spent long periods of my youth traveling the world with my mother. I grew up surrounded by the arts and chose photography as my primary creative outlet. I practice photography professionally , as well as continue to document the many people and places from my travels. I love to capture moments and tell stories in a captivating , creative and organic way.

Sabrina is a truly gifted photographer. If you’re looking for a unique look check out her work. A lot of talented photographers out there, but she has just the style I wanted and photos came up incredible! Not to mention she’s super kind and patient (and I need a lot of patience)
