Working with Hannah was one of the best parts of our wedding planning experience. We hired her for partial planning, and from the very beginning, she made everything feel so manageable and stress-free. She really took the time to understand our preferences and helped us find the perfect vendors that matched our vision and vibe. Hannah was always organized, responsive, and incredibly helpful. Whether it was hopping on frequent Zoom calls, keeping us on track with timelines, or replying to texts with thoughtful advice (even for the tiniest of questions). Her calm and kind energy made the whole process not only smoother but also more fun. One huge bonus: her team also offers wedding rentals! We rented candles, décor, and a large seating chart from them, which was such a lifesaver. We didn’t want to deal with sourcing all of those items or figuring out what to do with them afterward, so being able to rent directly through her made everything so much easier. Our wedding day went so smoothly, nothing went wrong (or if it did, I had no idea, because Hannah was on top of everything!). I wouldn't change a single thing about it. It was truly perfect, and a big part of that is thanks to her. Now that the wedding is over, I honestly feel sad I won’t get to work with Hannah anymore! If you're even slightly on the fence about hiring a planner, do yourself a favor and reach out to Joyfully. They were such an essential part of making our day as amazing as it was.

They not only helped plan and make our vision come to life they also helped us navigate the vendors fix problems when they came up communicated with the vendors and reminded us every step of the way until the end what needed to get done helped with putting the invitations and save the dates together. Simply Elegant Group was by far my favorite vendor! Every single person we talked to from Lindsay Mackey, their amazing manger and our first contact to the hotel-block assistant was a joy to work with, communicative and helpful. The workbook, spreadsheets, and connections with other coordinators and vendors made the whole wedding planning process more enjoyable and streamlined. We chose the Day of Coordination and are very grateful to have had Hanh as our wedding coordinator! Hanh is worth her weight in gold! With Day of Coordination we received not only ten hours of custom coordination from the wonderfully efficient and empathic Hanh, we also had the help of her assistant. This was perfect because someone was by my and my husband’s throughout the day. I loved that with SEG we had a whole team of magnifically organized, thorough and compassionate individuals to support us in executing our dream wedding. Once we had submitted our information Lindsay contacted us to go over all of the things included in wedding planning. She created a rough draft of our day of timeline and gave us access to our Wedding Workbook. They have templates for everything you will need for organizing your wedding and making sure you do not miss out on important, but often overlooked details. Two months before our wedding date we were connected with Hanh. From our first meeting throughout the whole time before the wedding and for the duration of our wedding itself Hanh was both our wedding angel and ninja rolled all into one. I had done a lot of the initial setting up vendors, but as soon as she could she took over as my contact person. This meant the vendors had to email/reach out to Hanh and left me feeling like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. From this point on I started to enjoy wedding planning.I love that she reached out to not only myself, but included my now husband and daughter in on a meeting. If there were any hiccups leading up to the wedding I did not know until they were already handled. On our wedding day, everything went smoothly for my husband and I and our family.Again if there were any mishaps my husband and I were oblivious of them and we had the best wedding ever! Where do I even start?! We had Hanna Marie Events for our Day of Coordinator, Content Creation, and we also did the Wedding Management Package. If I could go back, I would do the same thing over again! From the very beginning, Hanna felt like a friend. She’s incredibly sweet, down to earth, and is truly there to support you in creating the best day of your life. On top of that, she’s very knowledgeable, organized, and can probably answer any question you’d ever have. Throughout the planning process, I always felt supported. Hanna responds quickly to emails and was always in my corner helping me make the right decisions when I had no clue what I was doing. There’s no way our wedding would have turned out so seamless and beautiful if it wasn’t for HME. On our wedding day, everything went smoothly and beautifully. They were so on top of everything, they worked with the other vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page, it couldn’t have gone better. Having them there took off more stress than I can explain, and instead of worrying about random things, we got to enjoy our day and take in each moment. Lastly, content creation! We opted out of doing a videographer and instead chose content creation with HME. Best decision ever!!! She captured all the moments, big and small. She captured details from the venue, our first look, ceremony, dancing, etc etc. Anything you’d want videos of, Hanna’s got it. It’s been so fun to reminisce on our day, and looking back at all the videos is the best part. Hanna captured once in a lifetime moments that came and went in an instant, but now we have forever. Her spreadsheets were super helpful to keep all of the information in one space and to keep us on track. She kept an eye on the budget and coordinated all of the vendors. She handled mailing the save-the-dates and invitations, and the RSVPs, as well as lodging logistics and welcome bags. On the day before and day of the wedding she was there trouble-shooting and making sure all went smoothly. Couldn't recommend her enough!

JayLynn was amazing to have during the wedding process. She would always answer any questions I had, she always offered to help with anything I needed done. The checklist she gave me helped so much during planning, especially the closer we got. The day of the wedding everything went so smoothly and if anything did go wrong my husband and I didn’t even know about it. Our venue didn’t allow us to start decorating until 1pm and our first look was at 1pm. I can’t imagine the stress I would have had if we didn’t have JayLynn and her team to decorate. JayLynn and her team also cleaned up on wedding day which allowed my husband and I to go straight to our after party. She is also very positive and puts your mind at ease! Working with the Oso team was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We actually hired them about 2 years in advance, so we got to work with them for a super long time! One of the biggest reasons that we wanted to hire Oso specifically was because of their decor inventory, which was 100% available to use at no additional cost with their full wedding planning package. Weddings can be extremely wasteful in terms of decor, so it was nice to be able to consciously be a bit more sustainable! We honestly ended up hiring Oso for so many other services as well — Michelle did an amazing job with our signage, they also have a great photobooth package, and Michelle’s sister owns Bobaholics so we were able to get a discounted rate for a boba bar! It really felt like a one-stop shop :) Michelle, Gen, Raymundo, and Gennie were all so helpful in coordinating with vendors and giving us wedding advice/guidance - working with them also gave us confidence that we weren’t missing any important steps or details of wedding planning. They were also available by text/email anytime, and they always responded extremely quickly, which I so appreciated! Talking to them felt more like talking to friends who were super passionate about wedding planning! On the actual day of the wedding, my husband and I felt so stress-free because of Oso - they seamlessly guided everyone to stay on schedule, had walkie talkies to communicate with each other, and constantly asked us if we needed any food/water/etc. They took care of passing out our vendor tips, and set up all of our decor with time to spare! When people ask us for wedding planning advice, we always say that hiring a planner was the best decision we made - specifically Oso Events! From our very first call, to some exciting design meetings, to many many emails, ending in our perfect day full of magic, we were truly in the best hands. TL;DR: If you're questioning a wedding planner. You found your person in Shelby. She will be your teammate and advocate. Let me start by saying 5 stars is not enough for Shelby. What she was able to do over the course of a few months and the day of our wedding, and even after, is no short than a miracle. My aunt said it best, "She was just meant to do this job", and it shines through every conversation, detail, and edge she was able to walk me back from. I contacted Shelby originally for a month of coordinator. Soon after, I realized even for a type A project manager, I was in over my head planning an Alabama wedding from Philadelphia, PA. She walked me through everything and that's when I said I need her on my team and I need her skills now for everything between today and the wedding day. The best decision I made through the process (debatably even more so than saying yes to my husband) was hiring Shelby. She made the transition from what I prepped and thought I had under control to the most magical day I could imagine. I hired her about 5 months before the wedding. She always made me a priority no matter the occasion or time. I genuinely had the best wedding planner and gained a friend along the way. I am not exaggerating when I say, I could not have done this without her.

Sarah was so helpful in our planning process the last few weeks leading up to our wedding and on our wedding day. She was super responsive and available to answer questions throughout the process and give recommendations. Her recommendation on wedding dress alterations saved me 600 compared to the first place I went to! There is a lot that happens in the last 4-6 weeks before the wedding; all of your vendors are reaching out about final details and decisions, which Sarah helped us handle. She took the initiative to email all of our vendors which took the stress off of us and allowed us to only work with her in the final weeks as she communicated everything out to the rest of our vendor team. I believe our wedding was the first time she and her team had been to our venue – Riverside on the Potomac in Leesburg, Virginia – but you never would have known it. In particular, she nailed our timeline, which was such a big help for us not to have to think about much. On the wedding day, she was on top of everything and from my husband's and my perspective, everything went to plan and there were no hiccups! She does everything through Google Docs and Sheets which makes things super easy for you to work on as you have time and it’s nice that it’s all done in one place, not back and forth through lots of emails!

How much does a wedding planner cost?

On average, a full-service wedding planner can cost between $3,000 and $10,000. It depends on where you live and where you’re getting married. Planners in areas with high costs of living, like New York City and San Francisco, may charge upwards of $20,000. If you’re having a destination wedding, consider using a planner local to the area—you’ll avoid paying extra for travel, accommodations, and meals. Day-of coordinators cost less. What do wedding planners do?

Think of wedding planners as jack-of-all-trades experts when it comes to weddings. Many offer different levels of service to meet your needs. If you just want day-of coordination, for example, your planner will be there to make sure your ceremony and reception go off without a hitch. This may mean setting up vendors or directing your wedding party and guests to make sure everyone is where they need to be at the right time. On the other end of the spectrum, full-service planning may involve:

Should we get a wedding planner?

Planners are great resources and can make planning your wedding much less stressful. If you’ve got the budget, a wedding planner is well worth the investment. Planners offer different service levels at varying price points. Choose the amount of help and cost that makes the most sense for you. At the bare minimum, you need someone (hired or delegated) to help manage the event day-of so you will be able to enjoy yourselves without worrying about too many logistics. If you decide to enlist a friend or family member to take on this role, keep in mind that this person will need to prioritize your needs over their own, and will no longer be attending or enjoying the wedding simply as a guest.
